This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.

It's Toaru Majutsu no Index. It's pretty popular,it's just airing now, and it's only had 13 episodes come out and it already has 4 wallpapers.

So last I saw I had 40 papers... I haven't submitted anything recently, so nothing could be rejected, nor have I broken any rules that I know of... and my papers are down to -60. Explanation please?

On the top right of your userpage is a box with info in, and it says you've uploaded 16 scans; however, counting the actual scans you've submitted, there are only 15.

It would therefore seem one has been deleted, presumably due to a higher resolution replacement, a previously un-noticed duplication, or perhaps subsequent examination indicated the scan was too small/low quality, or something like that.

Yes, I know about that one. The papers were already subtracted for that. So with that taken into account I should be at 40 papers...

100 papers are gone, 1 scan has been removed, so no, clearly after its removal you have -60. The only other alternative is you were fined for something, in which case you would have a PM telling you of the fine.

The system can't get things wrong - it doesn't randomly take 100 papers off people :/.

So, the scan was removed months ago, and it just now subtracts 100 papers, and a second time? It's already subtracted them. I already lost the 100 papers. Like I said, I HAVE taken that into account. My PM's are 0.

So... my papers should be at 40...

computers don't do things randomly unless the coder likes to put random things in the code. People do things randomly and don't notify.

so, why am I at -60 papers?

The same thing actually happend to me and I sent a pm to Bantam about it. I at one point at the beginning of this month had about 2000 papers, and then suddenly I had 500 depleted. Of course I thought it was probably me. But then the next day 100 more was depleted and I had known for sure that I hadn't done anything that day, I hadn't even downloaded a wallpaper yet.

I hadn't even downloaded a wallpaper yet.

PROTIP: Wallpapers don't cost any paper point. Also, papers do not disappear randomly, the only possibilities are either that you spent those papers downloading scans, or you got fined by a mod (but in that case you would have received a private message by the mod, stating that you've been fined and why).

No I was just stating that I hadn't downloaded anything o.0. Of course I know wallpapers didn't cost anything.

So you keep saying that... and I keep telling you...
I haven't DL'ed any scans in months. I haven't submitted any scans in months. I've had 1 rejection for scans, and that was 11 months ago. The papers were subtracted for that 11 months ago also. I have received no PM's regarding paper subtractions, except the one 11 months ago.

Yet I lost 100 papers and am now at -60. So, why did I lose 100 papers?

Probably because something was deleted - that's not rejected, deleted. When something is deleted (often because a better version was uploaded) you don't recieve a PM.

Have you checked through your list of scans - is one of them missing? (Not the one that was rejected, obviously, as that woudl never appear in you list of scans) If so, that's what was removed.

Yes, one has been deleted, somebody seems to have uploaded a better version.

Kinda odd that papers would be lost for that though. But thanks for the answer.

If they weren't it would create a loophole in the system - people could keep re-uploading the same scan, gaining 100 papers each time, then deleting it, loosing no papaers. Repeat that cycle and you'd end up with loads of paper.

It's always best to bear in mind when uploading scans from other websites that there may be a version out there that's better, so yours could be replaced, or when creating scans to make them as high-res as possible so that no-one will be able to upload a bettter version.
