Pirates of the Caribbean 2
I thought it was a great movie. better in some aspects and also darker. i liked the way they did the new characters (Davey Jones, Bootstrap Bill Turner) they were very well done. also the continuation of the jokes from the first movie. "Hide the Rum" when Jack sees Elizabeth again. i cracked up. the undead monkey was nice as well.
The things i didnt like were the twist with Elizabeth falling in love with Jack at the end. i already like her and Will together, i dont like it when they chage the love interests. tho she did cause jack to be eaten by the Kraken, but she was very sad about it.
also that the ending really didnt end anything. they have to set out to bring back jack from the depths.
but barbosa coming back was a real shocker. didnt see that one coming.
MisuchiIs it worth the $8.50 to go see it? XD
Yes, yes it is(I paid $11). There are just so many great moments in the movie, but nothing comes close to the final scene with Jack Sparrow. I don't really think that Elizabeth fell in love with Jack at the end, she just did that so she could lock him up. Afterwords she was just feeling very guilty for doing that to him, proving everything he said about her half way through the movie, that she was more of a pirate then Will. Barboso at the end though, god I want to see the next Pirates.
I can't wait!
I wonder if it'll be released on HD-DVD or Blu Ray?
Yeah, the part with Geoffrey Rush (sp?) at the end definitely sealed the deal, and make sure to stay after the credits. Very funny scene!
I was a bit surprised they went with the Depp x Knightley thing, kinda interesting.
Basically, go see it, it's a good action packed pirate movie.

See how those pirates got slaughtered by that kraken, one little octopus comes along and everybody trippin'.
But probably the best movie of the year so far.
Well worth your $7.50.

Jack Sparrow's double talk was over played along with his trademark "savvy" delivery. But I loved how the ambiguity of his character was left intact. Should we root for Jack, or against him? In the first film I felt they hinted that many of his legendary pirate antics were a combination of clever manipulation and a healthy dose of luck. Sadly, they completely dumped quick-witted and resourceful Jack for just plain lucky Jack. Funny, but not what I was hoping to see.
Overall a decent movie but I didn't enjoy it as much as the first. I'm looking forward to the final film to see how they manage to wrap things up.
Personally I didn't like the fact that they re-used jokes, though I do understand why they do.
Some parts of the movie went beyond ridiculous though, like the "human cabob" part with the cannibals...and I don't know if it was just me, but I could have sworn that Depp looks at the screen during the scene in that "classic" 80's style.
Don't get me started on the scene after scene stuffed with action, I don't mind some good action in my movies, but enough is enough.
And I don't know if anyone else agrees, but my two friends and I think that they are just making Monkey Island into a movie.
I kinda hated how they were all so close at the end of Curse of the Black Pearl, and so seperate on this film. But- now that I think of it, it seems fitting. He is a pirate after all. Oh! And wasn't it great how when Elizabeth chained Jack to the ship- he called her a pirate?
They did a great job- and I should have guessed they were going to "Kill Bill' these two movies since they filmed them at the same time. I wish I woulda known going into it- but I guess the film wouldn't have had the same impact.
Oh! For all you Paper lovers out there who are inspired & want to create something- IGN already has many fairly high quiality pics up. You can get them here.
