This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.

Hi minna...
im curious about what your parents think about you spending quite lot of time just in front of tv or computer watching anime or reading manga...
well...my parents dont know that i watch anime and buy manga sometimes...
maybe they know and say nothing...but its is not probable..O_o
if they knew...i would be dead by now...TT..most of korean parents (im korean) arent very nice with these kind of things....the only thing they think is: study and study and study again...maybe they are like that because they know how hard life is.....but study isnt everything...
i want to know how your parents deal with these questions..^^

Well I don't live at home. And where I live we got barely anime, not on tv or in shops, if it is they are expensive, so I go mostly on bittorrents. Manga I buy, from my own money, luckily manga is coming around more. When I started collecting manga 7 years ago(when I was 13) there was almost zero manga here.

Well, my parents think it is a wast of money, but I have shown them things that i think they are wasting money on and so they look at it now as kinda like awsome

My mom doesn't really care about what i do with my time...she knows that i love anime/manga and think I'm stupid...and dad knows that i love anime/manga and i guess he thinks it's better for me to like it then like american pop singers or something like that...and as i don't spend money buying no other things besides mangas, they give me money...they think i spend to much on it, but whatever XD

My mom doesn't mind, but sometimes my dad sees me watching a controversial anime (ejem Angel Sanctuary for example) he starts with a little discusion wich ends very friendly; so what i do is watch those types of anime alone where no one can bother me or when my mother is around

Well, my parent's don't really care if I buy it, that much. They both usually say its a waste of time, and that it is childish. I don't think my situation is that bad, compared to some people who aren't even allowed to have manga...

My parents are cool with it. It sucks some times to explain the difference between a transfomer and a gundam but other than that it's good. For my birthday and other occassions they'll get me anime of my wishlist and some times will watch a little with me. I had my mom watch the first episode of Fruits Basket and then she got the rest of the show on dvd for me! But it's taken an education from all of us because when I started was when there was alot of controversy about anime because of the hentai aspect and people thought that all anime was the same. But we were ale to learn and parents were cool if I just followed the usual rules, like I'm 12 no 14and up shows. SO could experiance for me.

I must say YOU MUST HAVE THE COOLEST PARENTS EVER! I would love if my parents were anime fans too, so I'd never have to explain myself. They hate that I like anime, they think it's a waste of A LOT of money, and that I'm too absorbed in it (which is probably true, I'm pretty obsessed, although not as much as before).

Well i dont have parents
but what i know about how parents around me feel about the subject are, they don't care much of the subject, honestly when they see ne watching anime, they always say " should stop watching CARTOONS and go do something, and i swear, it ticks me off when they call anime a cartoon, obvious no show of respect for what i like/watch...........

My parents will always have time to watch anime with me. We got a home theatre at home so we always watch it every weekend. They oftenly got too excited with that anime and i love to see that. They're so funny. My family is an anime lover, i have twin little sisters and one big brother, all of us like to watch anime. My parents doesn't think anime as a waste of money, but more like entertaining activity to do to release our stress.
So weekend is something tha i really wait because we can gather together and watch anime in harmony (not if both of my dad and mom already get too excited about it).
But my mom also will censored adult animes and won't let us see it. But if the scene's just kissing or hugging, it's fine with them. ^^'

Good question. my parents at first really thought when i was watching anime or reading manga was stupid. and that i should act more mature for my age. but then i started to draw...and they were really shocked at my drawings. they were surprised that i could draw like that. so they stopped bugging me, now they actually invite the rest of the family in my room to show off my drawings(my drawings are on my walls) when they did that it made me feel so special.
