This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.

If your a gamer you have surely heard of Capcom, this gaming company is one of the most well known gaming companies of japan. Founded in 1979, it was named Capcom for Capsule Computers. They have made some of the most memorable game franchises known to date and is one of the reasons Capcom is my favorite gaming company. They make great games. They were okay in the 80`s not having that much succes but with the help of one game they were immediatly in the buiseness, and then another release soon after that on the NES secured it, they were there to stay. The two games were Street Fighter and Megaman. Either of them could be considered to capcom like what Square Enix considers Final Fantasy as.

My first time playing a Capcom game was Street Fighter, I didnt like it all that much but it did give me a chance to know what fighting games are like and get me into them, so I started playing Tekken( not by capcom, namco) and such. But the one that made me like them the most has to be Resident Evil, such an awesome game series. Man how can you not like it. And also Viewtiful Joe, wich shows you how diverse they can be. They have also been releasing great games these last times. With games like Dead Rising and other games from them coming up like Resident Evil 5, I dont see Capcom going bankrupt anytime soon.

So let me hear it, do you like Capcom? Why? Why not?

Yes, recently for Onimusha 4, Devil May Cry 3, and Resident Evil 4. I will like them a lot more if they made new Street Fighters and Devil May Cry 4.

My all-time favorite Capcom game is the Power Stone series (1 and 2). Capcom is well known for their traditional fighting games, and they're also infamous for breaking the tradition with Power Stone, which works on a completely different ruleset and gameplay/movement is in true 3D instead of the typical 2D movement we often see in most games.

Power Stone 2, particularly, is an awesome, comical, and addicting party game. The replayability is almost neverending with the things you can do and the brawls you can get you and your friends into. If only it did online play... >_>

I don't know, Capcom as a company is alright I guess. They make some good and some bad titles, just like other gaming companies, so I guess I'm at a pretty neutral stance.

Street fighter will always remain one of my favorites (SF2 was the first game that i played properly) and I do love all the other Capcom games, such as Res. evil, Ominusha, Devil may Cry, etc. However I haven't really seen a really original title from Capcom in a while (excluding Okami <3 emoticon). They tend to stick to the same formulas and franchises. Even Street Fighter is starting to get rusty as they're just releasing anthologies and remakes of previous ones -_-

Capcom is built on some strong franchises. Street Fighter, Mega Man, Resident Evil and Devil May Cry. That said, some of their independant deals like Killer 7 and Haunting Ground have been excellent too. There are very few companies that have their record for success. They've had their fair share of mistakes too, but I'm not sure I can remember what they are.

Although Capcom does an awesome job with the variety they have a certain series that is to drawn out and I think they should stop stop making spin offs and one very good game of it, and that is Megaman. To many spin offs and no actual ground breaking games. So yeah they need more of that. But anywya aside from that, they have great games. I`l be making several new topics for the thread as time progresses, maybe post some Capcom news and what not. So here is the second topic. I`l answer it later.

What genre do you think Capcom is best in? Why?

Capcom,... well... let's see...

Street Fighter was my pre-ticket to Tekken. Before I ever knew Tekken, the Street Fighter series were my favorite Beat'em up Games. Street Fighter 2, then Turbo Hyper Fighting, and then Super STreet Fighter 2.

Secondly, I got introduced to the Mega Man series, and liked it very much from the start. I possess the Mega Man Classic Collection on PS2, as well as Mega Man X1 to Mega Man X6.

And while we talk about Mega Man,... man I somehow can't cope with the new Systems of Mega Man X7 and X8, the Gameplay is somewhat weird, especially in Mega Man X7... The Characters seem to move so slow IMO... or maybe X7 was kinda test of Mega Man as 3D-Game,,... well IMO it didn't work out....

Capcom is a company with some contrasts.

+They have released really addictive gaming series like Street Fighter, Megaman, Breath of Fire, Rival Schools, Final Fight and a big etc.
+Street Fighter i Third Strike is still one of the most tactical and balanced fighting games, filled with a lot of competitive play. It's also a 2D masterpiece.
+Megaman still seems to show some trace of Evolution in every new saga released.

-They tend to make shitloads of sequels, some of them not being able to equal the originals.
-They overdid a bit with all those Street Fighter II updates. Yeah, I know the game was too played back in its times and stuff, but people was getting tired of that.
-Capcom may have one of the most annoying fanbase I've ever met, only comparable with the Square fanboys.
