Lelouch & Suzaku : Athrun & Kira
I don't know if everyone has the same opinion.
I have seen the 23rd episode just now and noticed something. Suzaku and Lelouch are very good friends indeed just like Kira Yamato and Athrun Zala in Gundam Seed. Don't you think it's a little similar?
First is they are very good, close friends. Once they knew they are enemies, they fight to the death because of hatred. At the end of episode 23 (I'm assuming that Suzaku already knew who really Zero is, but I think he knows.) Suzaku was full of hatred because of what happened to Euphemia. The trigger of their battle.
In Gundam Seed, Kira killed one of Athrun's very close friend - it brought hatred to Athrun too. So, for revenge, Athrun killed one of Kira's close friends too because "Kira killed my friend, I have to kill him, too!"
Anyone can contradict my opinion, but that's what I noticed. CG and GS have different stories though.

1. suzaku is more naieve than athrun and kira put together
2. neither athrun nor kira is a mind-raping shinigami like lelouch is (well, kira's a little bit...)

I think Suzaku is becoming more like Shin Asuka in Seed Destiny. He gets on my nerves everytime I see Suzaku on the series.
I don't see many similarities in this comparison. Basically all I see is that its friend vs friend in mechs lol (and suzaku pawns lelouche way more than kira vs athrun--its not even a contest). Kira and Athrun start as enemies and eventually team up, but I don't really see that here.
Then maybe he's somewhat like Shinn Asuka of SEED DESTINY? I don't know why but whenever I see Code Geass, it reminds me of Gundam SEED.

There are similarities but there are differences too.
First time I saw the characters in Code Geass, I was immediately reminded of the Gundam SEED characters. Like say, Lelouch reminds me of Shinn (just the looks, okay?), Suzaku reminds of Kira, C.C.-Stellar, and Karen-Cagalli. That's just my point of views.
Now that I've seen Suzaku's rage and thirst for revenge, he's kinda like Shinn Asuka right now. Seeing Euphemia's death also reminded me of Stellar's death. So similar yet different at the same time.

Thanks for your opinions. I will have to watch Code Geass when it is already complete... probably it will end around October to November(?)... so I will see for myself to Suzaku's development... either he fails or he wins. He's becoming more like Shinn... waaaaaah... I hope he fails!!

Well Suzaku's personality is more like Shinn's but Lelouch is more similar to him in terms of looks. Plus the friendship thing is similar to Kira & Athrun's, and CG instantly reminded me of GS/D.

I dont think so . in my opinion, Athuran is representative of ration & justice,and Kira is peace & ideality.
But Lelouch is more like Yagami Light

Somehow I agree with you.I like watching lulu's battle of strategies(but he really sucks at controling Knightmare frame...he almost dead three times with a Knightmare,rememeber?).But he just got more and more like Yagami light,I hope he does'nt have the same end like him.

I really hope Suzaku dies, thats all that I want to get off my chest, he's annoying as hell. Seriously. Besides, Suzaku looks better in a casket anyway.
Suzaku annoys me too but not to the point I want him to die. His attitude right now is like Shinn's.

I think Suzaku like Kira,because their characters,situation.Suzaku has Kira's behavior,he has multiple ways of expressing himself .Euphie looks like Lacus, with pink hair and hall.Kira is a coordinator but he sided with the Naturals, while Suzaku is a Japanese who sided with Britannia. They doesn't kill enemies, he just destroy the head or arms instead. Insane piloting skills combined with super high-end equipment.Kira can do those things because he has a seed, a super coordinator or something. Suzaku is just a normal human being,but motion nerve is especially excellent.
