This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

My few points
-So after watching the last episode of the season, i was so amazed... couldn't have been any better.
-About half way through the series, i thought.. hhmm... just gundam seed again with Arthun and Kira, old friends that has to fight each other through the series that become buddies at the end.. but they proved me wrong, which was good
-Nina.. she's nuts, not a highly developed character that has such a pretty significant
-Honestly to say, i really don't care about CC's past, it just never hit me to wanting to wonder.

So all in all, i was wondering, what made this show such a ultimate hit
what was the one top reason you watched and i assume enjoyed the show?
Because:
it's character design was by CLAMP
of it's Mech design/action
of it's story and characters
[just to name a few, any others]

post a "short title reason" with the quote's title and the "reason description" and the quote's text

example/me

It's story and characters
The simple story of revenge and betrayal that loops all over the place, all worked together with such great characters. My homage goes to Lelouch, his the character you'll love to hate. His so intelligent that it makes him evil. Always adapts to any situations to achieve his goals, even when the worst happens. All the conflicts he has with all other characters, especially Suzaku, just never know when they'd be together again. Behind all his zero concern for the lives of anybody, his totally devoted to his dear sister's future. so he isn't totally heartless

thats all i got right now... i dunno how to explain why i like his character, so bad that its good

So what was the very reason you like the show and why?

First... I saw on the magazine that Lelouch from Code Geass at the 5th rank, I think... What kind of anime is this?? Make me want to try this serie... He2^^

I like Code Geass maybe because the characters are designed by CLAMP, and the characters are so cool... My fav character is Lelouch for male characters, and Shirley, C.C, Kallen, and Euphemia for the female characters... ^^, Not only the characters but the story line is very great too, make me can't stop watching this serie... He3^^

I wasn't very interested in Geass, because it really looked like some new mecha anime, specially being from Sunrise.
But I was interested in the character design, being a Clamp fan and all, so I decided just to watch a couple of episodes. Maybe it would be a nice show, and the robots wouldn't be the main plot of the story.

And I glad I watched. I really like the story, the robots wasn't so important and it was pretty interesting.
And well, even if I know that Geass is just a marketing reseach subproduct that is just looking to apeal to all the targets I'm really enjoying it.

The shopkeeper of an Anime store informed me about Code Geass. She knew that I was a Gundam SEED fan and I was into mech types of Anime and she also knew that I like CLAMP designs. She suggested this Anime to me and gave it a shot. I watched the first 3 episodes of Code Geass and I immediately fell in love with the anime. I was amazed with the character designs and mech designs, plus the plot was really something to look forward too.

Now for the characters...

The characters hold some Gundam SEED character essence in them. It just made me feel that way. Lelouch reminds me a bit of Shinn Asuka, Suzaku reminds me of Kira Yamato, Stellar Loussier for C.C., and Karen is definitely like Cagalli Yula Athha.

I thought the plot would be similar to Gundam SEED but I was wrong. Still, I'm glad it has a unique story compared to other mech animes.

Code geass is a wonderful anime!^-^ and because of CLAMP who made the characters design, the anime becomes cool and really nice with handsome boy, beautiful girl and shonen-ai!
the mecha design is cool and really perfect! specially Lancelot!
After all,CLAMP's design is really wonderful! They have nice idea to create those characters design... I really like all of CLAMP's art.

My favorite characters is Lelouch which have smart brain and handsome too,and...Euphimia the pretty!!There are Suzaku the cute and innocent one and CC is a little quite and really misterious character!

at the end,CODE geass is a cool anime!!

Well, I kept hearing about it on here, so I got curious. I always look up an anime before actually downloading. The moment I found out there was mecha and the character designs were by CLAMP I jumped. I'm a total mecha fan girl, which resulted from Gundam Wing, so of course now I see mecha I hunt down torrents. CLAMP is one of my favorite artists of all time. Their stuff is always amazingly gorgeous, so to find an anime with CLAMP designs and mecha? Talk about my dream anime.

I was really interesting in the mechs, mainly because their design resembles the LFOs in Eureka Seven, which I was still obsessed with upon looking up Code Geass.

But to tell the truth Code Geass wasn't any near what I thought it would be. It turned out to be some much freaking better its not even funny. I can't even remember what I thought it would be like. It just blew me away.

I love Lelouch. I don't carer if hes an evil genius bent on destroying his father's country to take revenge for his mother and and create a place for his sister to live peacefully. Hes just freaking amazing. I mean his character is just so... so... I don't even words to describe Lulu's awesomeness!!

(I also find it totally hilarious no one seems to make the connection that Lulu is Zero. Totally great.)

I love Suzaku too, but mainly for his naive sense of justice *huggles him.* I really liked Karen/Kallen. She just seemed like the type of female heroine you could like easily. I was rather disappointed with her break down at finding out Lulu was Zero, but whatever, I think she'll be ok.

I found Nina to be odd, but strangely likable (if that makes sense). I think she was alittle too obsessed with Euphie though (that one scene where she was in the dark looking at picture of Euphie having a... seizure... still weirds me out). I'm not at all surprised at what she did at the end of 25.

CC kicks ass. I can't believe shes an alien. I would not have guessed that, though it does make sense. I'm really curious to find out about her past, though it didn't cross my mind much until Lulu saw those scenes from her past in 24.

This show is just too amazing for words. Though something in me died when I found out (on my BIRTHDAY DX ) that Geass was licensed. I guess it might be ok because it was licensed by Bandei Entertainment, who did .hack//SIGN, The Big O, Cowboy Bebop, Eureka Seven, Ghost in the Shell (and 2), Gundam Wing, Outlaw Star, and Wolf's Rain, which are all pretty awesome dubs in my opinion. Which also means Code Geass will be shown on TV, and I'm hoping it'll be on Adult Swim (though I'm positive it will be). So at least thats one good thing, this shows deserves all of the attention it can get.

The strongest point is obviously the characters. While they are mostly generic individually, the collection of them makes for a very strong cast. The relationship between each character is also really well played out. Sub characters are not just cannon fodder or background material. Each one is important, and the production made sure each one's reason for their action was explained. It makes the character more understandable, and this makes them more important to the story, even if they are essentially just sub characters.

The story is fairly standard, but the pacing has been great, except for the Mao arc in the middle. And while there were some contrivances with the plot, they are minor. The major events are all well explained. Best thing about the story is that revelations between characters has been extremely well spread out, making for a 25 episode season with very little instances where the audience isn't captivated. Again, it's doing the small things correctly that allowed Geass to have such good pacing.

Other minor notes that I personally favor are the fight scenes, which play out with more strategy and thought rather than just the machine with the biggest or the most cannons. Suzaku vs Kallen has been very well choreographed, in many instances.

I loved it, but I didn´t watched the last episode ^^U. In the first time I remember hearing and reading that the characters from this series were designed by CLAMP and thath is a good point to look for some new manga or anime, these great manga producers make miracles with their artworks.
Then I watched the first episode and I love the atmosphere, the story and the introducing of the Geass as so, the main protagonist Lelouch...he resembles Kamui so much XDDD (and Suzaku ressembles Shaoran from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles).
I think I have to accept all the opinions posted here as I want to say the same as them. Great series and I wanna see more episodes and more new characters and story development ^^

I'm addicted even now that I saw the end of the first season... |(n_n)| emoticon

I must say I really like this anime. It pushes an anime-fan to think of how one finds the way Lelouch deal with his problems... Almost all the anime tend to focus more on the protagonist (most justice of all and those that will help but will not kill kind of character) But in this anime, one can choose to side decide who the antagonist or protagonist. And of course, it's a great eye candy since it CLAMP kekeke...Overall great plot and I never regard Lelouch as an antagonist although he appeared to be evil

Anti-heroes are awesome, there's hot chicks, good art and quality, and the plot is great.
It's unique and is very suspenseful. Which leads to it being my favorite series.

The reason im interested in Code Geass is because of the complex development of the characters and the dynamic relationships between them. This just makes the enitre show feel so much deeper and realistic (well, as realistic as you can get for a mecha anime...lol). Lulu's only care in the world is his sister and yet he still carries out a civil relationship with his "friends" for the sake of appearance also intrigued me cuz it got to the point where it was almost impossible to draw the line between where Lulu's life ended and Zero's life began.........ya, thats all i have to say lol.

Well, the first thing I saw about this series was a vector work on Minitokyo.net of Lelouch. This pic catched my eye because of the drawing style and the geass in his eye. I searched around and found some other pics which make me want to see more. It's just the drawing style of CLAMP which interested me the first time.

OK, after that I downloaded the first episode and...... WOW, such a great show.
The story is very complex and dark but I like it a lot. I think everyone is trying to do their best to fulfill his/her dreams. The first episodes were nice but also a bit "normal" but in the middle of the show or better after the first four or five episodes I tried to understand which way would be the best to achieve the best turn out. To tell the truth, I think that either Lelouch nor Suzaku are on the right way. The best one was the idea of Euphemia in Episode 22 but well, we all know what happend.

It's really interesting to see how the characters change in this series. Just take Lelouch: He begins as a rebell and changed in the end of the series to a really insane person. I don't like what has become of him but I think it's the way how some people with to much power grow up later.

One of the best things in the series for me are the flahbacks. Just some portions of memories of C.C. or about the murder of Marianne. That's what keeps this series really high for me. There is a secret hidden which is not revealed until now and I can't wait to see what it is about C.C. past and the truth behind the murder of Marianne.
