The Purpose. . .
Greetings, everyone.
The purpose i'm referring to or talking about is the purpose of life. So, what is the purpose of life then? Not just human life. But all life. Wherever, whomsoever or whatever this word is applicable on.
Is it not to terminate itself? Why is there life if it is to end anyways?
Or is there no purpose at all? And we're all here just by 'co-incidence'.. perhaps..?
The world or the workings of it aren't really all that balanced, are they? Or is this just the human viewpoint? Is this what is actually balance?
If so, then, are we, the humans, here only to unbalance the equations of nature and life..?
Just wondering.....

Btw, i also hope that i'm not recreating a previously created thread of the same topic. Because i think that maybe there has been a thread about the same. But i'm not sure. So, i created this one. Your purpose in life as i see it is as follows live, love, parent hood, grandparent, and death. i could be wrong were not all like mr burns of the simpsons who can pay crap loads of money to stay alive.

The reason you [Firestorm] don't have a proper answer is because there is no definite answer. Some might even say it's all a matter of opinion. I personally think it's the most pointless question to even consider thinking about.
I guess my answer to this profound question is:
The purpose of life is to live and die. That is it. I know it's not such a dogmatic, philosophical answer but that's just the way I see it. Life is too random to have a universal purpose or meaning.
Others could argue hours on end only to realize there really is no answer. Human knowledge is far too finite. At least, that much is certain.

My science teacher says that "the meaning of life is to have sex". I have a different one, and that's god created beings so they could enjoy themselves. Whether it be sex or playing video games, we all want to have fun. I guess god wanted to see some happiness in the universe so he created humans who he hopes could find some way to enjoy life to its fullest
I guess everyone will have a different answer in themselves... and there isnt any right answer to this question... what i myself think is... to enjoy every single things you're doing now...
My purpose in life is something that i don't think i can get it...that is by being appreciated, love, angelic and honour by thousands of people..that will be IMPOSSIBLE!! haha

I think of this. Consider why your parents gave to you. It's because they love each other and want a product of their love to continue on even after they leave this world. So you could say that part of the purpose of life is to give the gift of life. There is no greater magic in this world using your life force to produce another. For the individual , life to himself is the chance to experience all things in the world before going back to the soil. Ultimately we were all created from one source and it was the will of that source to discover itself by giving life to others. For everything in our world, there is a back and front, a start and end.. this which allows us to see that there is endless discovery to be made and nothing has a definate answer. Everything is real becuase you can feel, see or sense it, while at the same time everything is an illusion because it will one day be gone and another thing will take its place. Every living thing is here to discover what's to come next.

Well I think you're looking for a psychological answer rather than a scientific/biological one, eh? I think, essentially, we're just like the rest of the animals and life on the planet and that we're supposed to make children and pass our genes on. If you look at it in another perspective (not religiously)... well then I'd say it's up to you to find your purpose of life. I want to make my purpose of life to be a positive influence to the people around me and change the world bit by bit while making my own dreams come true. That's what I'm living for 8) Actually, I think I'm answering what I think is the purpose IN life is instead of the purpose OF life... ah...

It is just my perception, life needs to be what you want it to be, not how others want it to be, nor what it is meant to be, what i mean is, you should live it according to how you feel it should be lived, for example, considering my situation, i believe in a law, a physics law, saying that everything has an inverse, each force has an opposite, so if some people are meant to live, some are meant not to, if some do have a soul mate, some are not meant to have one, if we consider math, it is almost, out of reach for something to be 100% if there are variables, humans are variables, life is a variable, the weather, friends, collision between people's path, all these are variables, and i made a resolve according to these, since life is about this, i will focus and consider the 90% part of it rather than the 10% of it, for example, i no more believe in love, this is a stupid concept created by human, it is not real, having a girl in my life leads me to waste more of my time than i would in trying to get a ps3 or an ipod on my own, not that am a greedy or something, but there are things i like, and either I'll live for them, or I'd just die giving up on everything, considering also that, if some are not meant to live, what if i was part of them, so, i will no more lose my time, and focus on this resolve, stand alone, or die alone

It's a hard question. I don't really know. All life have to come to an end someday, some last long, some last short, nothing is forever in this universe. Even though we can live for eternity but I don't think I want that. First look at the idea, you think it's awesome but when you reconsider it, it has many disadvantages. If human live forever then this earth will be overpopulated (as if it's not overpopulated already). Plus to that amount, there are newborns too. Human life cycle may disbalance other animals' cycle (as if human did not already disbalance the biological cycle already). In short, nothing is as good as you think it is.
I guess my purpose in life is: to ENJOY! to play, to have happiness, to feel and live my life to the fullest. But it seems impossible, people are always working, always worried, always have to prepare for the future. I feel pressured. I think the stage in which every soul can be happy is when you're still a baby.
