This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.

Sorry but Money isn't everything, I mean sure it's important. In this age, sadly you need money to survive in this world and money also represents reputation. Hence I can see why some people would get the idea that money is everything. But really, can money buy you love or happiness? no it can't buy true happiness. The happiness that you get from spending money on what you want is only temporary. That doesn't last very long, however true happiness does last longer. So no money isn't everything, on my list of importance i'd say it's 2nd or 3rd.
Remember the most important thing isn't money, but trust, friends, and love.

Then all sport fans with a considerable amount of money should be stars.

Not necessarily because they spend it to watch the team and not become a part of it.

irove
Money buys talent?

New York Yankees + Boston Red Sox, Enough Said

irove
I didn't think you were that shallow.

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not going to be one who will trash a moral code for the sake of money, but I don't like thinking un-realisticly, and thinking that money isn't everything is more unrealistic than the opposite, so I take that stance.

irove
What about knowledge?

Kinda gotta pay for college and the books to learn from.

irove
it certainly does not help the world to become a better place

I won't and am not arguing against that point but I will say this: When Bill Gates and U2's Bono donated millions of their dollars towards eliminating poverty in Africa, this statement can lose some value in truth.

irove
but I really think it's pathetic to think that having a good economical position is all that matters

Ah but having a good economic standing is how we humans survive in a currency-based world. If Marx's (a lot of people think he was all evil, but his Das Capital is pretty, non-objective and semi-true philosophy, so don't get him confused with Lenin and Stalin the actual evil rulers of the USSR) theory ever comes true, then money won't equal everything no.

irove
And I think the second group is pretty much the definition of either greedy or conformist people, and it's plain shallow and superficial.

I bet if anyone walked up to the people who have money and never have to put in an honest day's work for the rest of their lives, they'd laugh in his/her face.

Hm.. i don't have much money..
but, i know that money can do a lot..
sometimes.. our happiness can buy with money..
and you're right.. our luck can't buy with money..
but, maybe, we can be lucky with money..
everything is possible..
thing that i know, money doesn't guarantee that our life will be okay..

But if you don't have the money to afford a car with the best technology and you can't afford to check often to make sure everything is ok, you have more chances to be in a car accident. Money can't do all the job, but it helps, that's for sure.
i Agree with you sometimes we need money to fix cars or somethin' ..

Not necessarily because they spend it to watch the team and not become a part of it.

Yeah, right, I'm sure there are a lot of rich guys that enjoy not only watching but playing a sport and they just chose not to play professionally having the chance.

Blih
Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not going to be one who will trash a moral code for the sake of money, but I don't like thinking un-realisticly.

The "get real man, everything is money on this days" argument is exactly what the fat greedy guys who use a 100 dollar bill as a napkin wants you to think. If you have more money, you'll spend more money. If you spend more money you'll feel good cause it fills a void inside you and makes you want more money and more money means you'll spend more etc. you get the point. So in order to do that they say that money is the only thing that matters in the world, that "the world is corrupted" view is invented so you don't complain. If you've got the idea that the world is rotten and there's nothing you can do about it, you won't do anything and you'll let that people run the world.

bluh
and thinking that money isn't everything is more unrealistic than the opposite, so I take that stance.

This brings us to another point: humans tend to separate and qualify things in order to make them easier to "understand". So we separate Black from White, Good from Bad, Realistic from Un-Realisitc. Just because something isn't true doesn't mean its antithesis is right. When we see something that looks like a cliche instead of thinking if it's right or not we tend to go away thinking that what we once saw as truth now we see it as something over used and we go to the pesimist point of view, the so called "realistic" because it sounds like the truth.

bleh
Kinda gotta pay for college and the books to learn from.

That's it? that's your response? Ok, yeah, you can get knowledge from books, but do you know that they're not that expensive? And all the things that you can learn from a good book is priceless. Also do you really believe that the only way of gaining knowledge is with books? You take a walk and you observe people and nature and you think about it and there you go, you learned from free. You also ignored the What about Art? question but I won't: Take an instrument for example, ok you need money to buy it, but if you think about how many passion and joy and freedom you can get from that thing, not all the money in the world would be enough to pay for that.

bloh
I won't and am not arguing against that point but I will say this: When Bill Gates and U2's Bono donated millions of their dollars towards eliminating poverty in Africa, this statement can lose some value in truth.

First: They're very rich, the reason why the donate it's because if they do they still have enough money to buy a small country.
Second: If we put that on one side and in the other how many people have been robbed and killed, and how many wars have been started in the name of money I think that statement loses no value in truth.

Ok, yeah, you can get knowledge from books, but do you know that they're not that expensive?

When 1 book for 1 class averages $90, and then you have to take into affect that a course averages two textbooks, making each course $180 in textbooks. Then you factor in the fact you take 5 of them a semester, making it $900 a semester. Then you factor in a typical 4-year, 2-semester a year college making it 8 semesters, and the grand total for textbooks comes to $7200. Now $7200 is not cheap, but then there's tuition, and other fees. Kinda not cheap.

irove
You also ignored the What about Art?

I'm not an artist, or do I care for it, so commenting on it would waste both of our time.

irove
how many wars have been started in the name of money

Name me one.

Conclusion: I forgot about this but: People run off something called rational-self-interest, which dictates the reason people make decisions in life. Ration-self-interest is a term found in ECO 100: Introduction to Economics and ECO 201: Intro to Microeconomics. Economics basically tells us how the world around us and the people within it works, and in knowing this I must say that money runs the world. Money makes the world go around. Money drives people to make every decision in life, therefore, why wouldn't it be anything?

Not necessarily because they spend it to watch the team and not become a part of it.

I bought Nietzsche's "Beyond Good and Evil" and Dante's "Divine Comedy" for 10 bucks each last month, even when this is a very expensive country.

Spudsy

Now, this, to me, is so far the worst argument I've heard. How does your own ignorance justify your point of view? You don't care for Art? Then what exactly are you doing on an anime site?

I don't need to like or care for art to like anime, that's like saying I have to care for journalism to watch the news.

Let's get back on topic shall we:

Name me one transaction that doesn't involve goods, services, or money.

A Jew friend told one time, MONEY is not everything but its an important tool.
So all we have to do is accept what money can get, and mustnt have to be confused with happiness and spiritual fullfillness. Just a tool, a powerfull one but still a tool

That's not true at all. These would say quite differently. You can't say you don't care for art when you spend a clear amount of critiquing them.

Spudsy
Name me one.

Both Gulf Wars. Even if the reason was that they supposedly went to war was officially 'weapons of mass destruction', I think the whole world recognizes that it was over oil that Saddam had.

Spudsy

You know, stating this had made me think of a point. That point is that, this is called 'cliche' for a reason, cliches often being fallacious in nature, and a sort of fallacy most people conjure together to help them believe a false truth.

But it isn't a false truth. It's a cliche, yes but it's not false at all. If a millionaire came up to me right now and said "Hey buddy, here's $1000, want to come over to my house so I can get some stuff off my chest about my day." then sure, I'd go and listen to him. Does it mean I'm going to care and respond from the heart? God no, I'm waiting for him to wind down whilst thinking about what I'm going to buy from his money which he's basically giving away. Same with love, you're not buying their care, loyalty or devotion, you're buying their time until something better comes along.

In this scenario, cliches are right. You cannot buy 'true' friendship or love.

Someone has to pay the troops, for the weapons, the vehicles, the rations, etc.

There's a reason that there's the saying: Time is money, and money is time.
