This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

°akiranyo 25 minutes ago
Ah, I see. So after approving is possible to change to even a not listed resolution.

The first was a 4:3 wallpaper. The low res widescreen version has been added later.

°akiranyo 33 minutes ago
Kath: That means that the first was 1440x900?

^hatesyou 35 minutes ago
The 1280x800 version has been uploaded by the user as a first revision. Might pay to get your facts straight before complaining.

°akiranyo 38 minutes ago
We should go up with resolutions not down. Btw AP resizes 1440x900 automatic to 1280x800.

The only cel-shaded games I can recall playing are The Wind Waker and Tales of Symphonia, and I loved both of those games.

A lot of people think of cel shading as "kiddy", but those are the jugheads who think every game should have Doom 3 calibur graphics.

Depending on what type of games you play, the cell shading adds to the visual. Especially for games that would be expected to look cartoonish, the cell shading really improves that aspect. On the other hand, if you were to make, for example, a cell shaded doom 3 or something... I can't even picture that... lol

Viewtiful Joe is one of the games that uses cell shading very well. You should try it out, if you're one of those beat em up game type lover.

Cel-shading is pretty kewl and, in the case of the Wind Waker, fit to the bill perfectly. Or almost: the atmosphere should had been more mature, though. Otherwise it was very tedious game after the first playthrough.

I only like 'light' cellshading, like in FullMetalA.2 and in ZOE2. heavily cellsheded games I don't like. It makes me a bit dizzy. lol I'm more of a 2d gamer. -but doesn't mean I don't like 3d and don't play them.

I must admit i was really not into the whole cell shading thing and when i saw that Wind Waker was going to be, i nearly didnt get it. However, after purchasing the game i couldnt have imagined it any other way..;-)

Killer 7 also falls into the bracket i spose.

Cell-shading:: ummmmm...for example: Zelda The wind waker, Tales of Simphonia, Naruto Narutime Hero, Jet Set Radio, Fur Fighters, Dragon Ball Z Budokai and the last Samurai Legends: Musashi (a good cell-shading game of Square-Enix company with Musashi as the main character and a bunch of other designed by the master Tetsuya Nomura)

I'm glad desieners are taking a new approach and make thing look more artistic instead of striving for realism all the time. I would love to see new uses for cel-shading or new artistic types or art direction come along though.

When is well done cellshading can produce the most amazing graphics you can get in games. And games like rogue galaxy and okami will prove it.

The intended goal in alot of cell shaded games is to give you a certain vibe to roll with thats you dont ususlly get with other games. Take JSRF for example. The Cell shaded graphics, music, and chara personalities work in tandem to bring the player a mellow, yetupbeat adreneline vibe.

On the other hand, Ultimate Spider Man uses this to create a comic-book feeling to great effect.

It just depends on the preferences the developers want, kupo^_^

But then again, i guess all graphics engines are made to give you a certain vibe...
