It was strange at first but Bungie and Tomonobu Itagaki (DOA series creator) actually agreed to put a Spartan in the upcoming game for the upcoming Xbox 360 game, DOA4. I figure this out in the Game Informer I got yesterday. I was strange to see a Spartan battling with Ryu, or with Ayane. Here's some info about the Spartan in the game:

"When we heard that a Halo Character was going to be included in DOA4, we of course imagined Master Chief going tow to toe with Ayane and Lei Fang, However, the Chief hasn't even been born in the tie of the DOA games, nor has Halo 2's other sar, the Arbiter. As it turns out, the Halo character in DOA 4 is a new one: Spartan-458, a character created by Bungie specificaly for DOA 4. Since the DOA and Halo games exist in very different universes, we asked both Itagaki and Bungie how this character would fit into the story. According to Bungie, the team "worked very closely with Team Ninja to provide what we feel is a logical explanation for why Spartan-458 is appearing in this game, while also remaining true to our own universe and our loyal fans. As fans of the Halo novels know, we have a very rich universe to draw upon and the Spartan program produced more than just Spartan-117 (who appears in the Halo games). Spartan-458 is a new character - this is NOT Master Chief."

So, the bottomline is that the new Spartan is not Master Chief but a FEMALE Spartan, yes that's right, a Female Spartan.

Lame, I bet it's gonna make as much sense as Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects (I really hate Marvel Nemesis and EA). Didn't all the Spartans die? Maybe she got into a time-traveling warthog. The idea is as dumb as putting Mario in a dancing game.

A Spartan kicking some buts in Dead or Alive 4 rockssssss...and with the girls that appear on that game, the perfect combination B)

Spartan? That's so ridiculous. I can't believe they would stick a Halo character into a fighting game series. Itagaki must've fell of his rocker.

No matter how ridiculous and weird this idea is, I always think about the female Spartan as some kind of playable "Training mode punching bag" character.


And well... if this character is gonna be included, it should be (gameplay wise) interested, AT LEAST. Also, do you really think this new character would break (even more) DOA's twisted and totally illogical story? :P

Bleh, I never got what was so fun about Halo anyway =/. If I ever get DOA4, then I'll try her out, and even then I probably won't think much of it.

DOA4, heard the graphics are good and the chicks looking hotter than ever<drooling>. I am always fan of DOA for the graphic parts. I think the only reason for most player like me to buy the DOA is graphics. I mena the control and playability isn't that bad but compared to others then is kinda crappy. Anyway Spartan in DOA would be ODD like an old man in a football team. :-)

I tink the putting of a spartan in DOA4 was just a tactic to sell the game to all of the halo fans that didn't already like and own the previous DOA titles. i'm actually disappointed with the whole fact that they sunk to that level to sell games.

if they wanted to be realistic about it, the spartan would be the ultimate character. according to the halo series and the books, the spartans are faster tha nother humans by a large margin and exponentially stronger. basically, one hit from a spartan should incapacitate any other character. but, they weren't being realistic when they did it.

guess i wasn't too happy when i found out that they did that ((and probably won't ever be, but it's not like i'm getting a 360. i don't have that kind of money to waste))

Its an alright idea...but what i dont like the most is that you cant play her through story mode. I would have loved to see an edning video from her. Team ninja makes some kick ass character movies.

well.....i definetly agree with the character movies thing there. but i guess they really didn't have much option there. they would have to then do something with the flood or the covenant as the nemesis for a spartan, which wouldn't be that great in the game. i think that's why the spartan will probably just end up being an unlockable character that's fun to play in multiplayer and that's about it. doesn't mean i like the idea anyways.

Well, I must say this is quite the disapointment. I mean, why would they even want to put a spartan in there? Why didn't they make it male? There needs to be more detailed male characters in DOA4. I hope it's worth buying.
