Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!

It cost $10 to buy a manga but like $7 to buy a normal paper back book. Then with anime. some places are sellin there anime for like $16 and other for $25-$30 per DVD. and i think manga is better than the anime. how do you think they should price all this stuff. I think mangas should stay at there proce because there is nice art to them. but seeing that anime is not always so good anime should not be more than $20 because that is a price of a normal movie. I think the old animes like 5 years old on less there good should drop to $10-$15 at the most. and the manags shold be come like $5-$7. if there still good than they should keep there price.

I would understand the 10 dollars price of mangas if they released ONCE A MONTH at least. I know from experience (as little as it this) that translating and editing are major tasks, but I think they are ripping us off 10 dollars for a manga you have to wait half a year for the next number (imagine a manga that is 50 volumes long, that's 25 years @_@)

About DVDs: they should make the old ones less expensive really =_= When VHS where the only way to distribute movies and such the stores had the common sense to lower the prices once they got too old (and make good sales and everything) but nowadays i'm lucky to see an USED anime dvd for 15 dollars. They are taking advantage of the die hard fans, i tell you.

'Normal movies' don't have to be translated, subtitled, dubbed, and have to pay sometimes outragous licenes fees. They also don't sell as many copies as 'normal' movies and most of the time aren't even shown in a movie theater, so their only form of revenue is from disk sales and maybe if lucky, licesing syndication rights to cable TV.

Same thing with manga. Translating, font setting, editing, cost of paper (the old, larger manga was printed on great paper, that's why it used to be $16 a manga), new artwork for the covers, I feel lucky only paying $10 for a manga!

I think that they could lower the price of manga. I mean, it only takes about a half hour to read...how much are you getting out of one of those? And then, with the whole series to buy...for example, Fruits Basket is twenty-two volumes long. You are paying $220.00 just for one series! It really adds up.

And then DVDs...oye. They are usually about $30.00 here for just one. It really is ridiculous when you start to really thing about it.

That is why ebay is my friend. XD I got normally a $100.00 boxset brand new, still sealed, with the first OST for only $40.00.

And, no, it wasn't a bootleg.

It's really expensive here in the UK.. we get the majority of the books imported so the price goes from being around £5 to what, £7? sometimes £8? (which is around $12-$15 per book - count yourselves lucky!)
It's only now that VIZ have licensed and released here that we're finally getting cheaper manga.. but their releases here are sooo slow ;_; !!

I agree, plus they take such a long time to translate one volume and sometimes there are visible errors >> you would think that they could actually proof read--

I wish they would lower the price of the manga, I mean a lot of people buy it so they are making profits..=_=

Well i am back and i have read what you guys have said. i happy to live in the USA because the manga and anuime is cheap. but for people in the US and some people that don't live here. some of these websites witll allow to get your stuff for a lower price. always check all the sites some times other are lower but the first one works the best. if you live in the UK you may have to change the (.com in to .co.uk)

www.overstock.com
www.bestbuy.com
www.ebay.com
www.amazon.com
www.barnesandnoble.com

after that if you still can't find a good price you to the webiste of the people that made the manga or the anime. they some times have a better price.

I am lucky because i find good prices like with DearS i got the DVD 1-3 and Manga 1-4 of $87. that was from over stock.

I really don't care about paying 10$ for it.
Because I usually get all that is out of a manga over time & I can wait till I get money for the next, but I only get like the next volume, so its only 10. && since its over time & not at one point in time [unless you have the money to buy it all there] then I don't really care, but thats me. @_@

It's all price and demand, err or wutever its called, i forget, People complain about the price of anime and manga, but peoeple still buy it. So really, if people buy it, theres no point in lowering the price. Pretty much no point in that, unless people werent buying the thing. And its not only just translating the manga, they gotta then edit out the japanese text and add in the english ones, and then make sure all their grammer is right and stuff ... Its actually a lot of work to do those stuff.

I actually think $10 is a good price for a manga. I spent $15 on the first volume of Earthian and it was way worth it. Especially nowadays, they add those color inserts so it makes me feel better anyway when I spend money on manga. I don't buy long manga (Fruits Basket, Kare Kano) though, I think it's a waste of time and money. I also don't buy shoujo, waste of time and money.
