Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!

If this isn't a search box, then where's the frakking search box? Put it at the top of the main page, for crying out loud.

This is my first time vectoring and I would like to know what others think of it, I'm not completely done with the vector I need to put some more shading in and some outlines and some contore lines in. But I figured since the scan was pretty big and the portion of Rukia was nice and tall, I'd try and create a portrait wall with it. I'd also like some feedback about what people think about a protrait wall, since a lot of video cards support 90/180/270 degree rotation, so here it is...

Hmz...I don't really get the portrait wall. hmz...your first vector, looks good. but you did it in photoshop ? hmz..must be...cause those jagged lines. you can get better lines with illustrator, since photoshop makes fake vectors. I think you could make the outlines first before vectoring the whole stuff.

You could still make the portrait version, and just extend the edges to make it the standard monitor resolutions for submission. I personally think that you should remove the blue rays and the grass, and place a sort of mirror in between the two Rukia's. Then the ghostly Rukia could be her image in the mirror. Maybe you could also vector in her left arm and hand with the fingers lightly touching the glass. That would look lovely, I think.

I think it needs a completely different idea for the bg and stuff - the rays seem really rather random (and also rather filterish) and the grass looks not so good. Also, ghostly double charas are really rather cheesey.

dhias' mirror idea might be the win. Set it inside and have her looking into a huge mirror, maybe?

Here's my revector of Rukia so far usinf Illustrator, I'm still getting the hang of the differences in it, http://www.thefilehut.com/userfiles/hawk16zz/RukiaHead.jpg

I love the mirror idea, I've been trying to make one but I'm having no luck, so if anybody has any ideas, I thank you in advance.

The vector will turn out way better if you render it at a higher resolution. You can then resize it down if you want. You might anti-alias the final version, too. This should help with the jagged lines.

The grass is too bright, perhaps...

Just to let you know, I'm scraping the grass/burst thing and going with a mirror/indoor theme suggest by dhias and tri, you just can't argue with a mod ;), I think I've finnally got the hang on Illustrator and things seem to be moving along pretty well, and you can see with this next vector preview, this time with shading on the head.

As I mentioned, I think the nostril looks a little big. Perhaps you could make it smaller?
