Cant believe they are still making new gundam series
i like the original first gundam and gundam wing but alot of them suck
is this one going to be good?
opinions?
havent watched it yet but i dont want to waste my time if it is just another bad gundam series

The new Gundam series looks very different from the previous ones, most notably the Mobile Suits are lanky, it is set in our real timeline: Ano Domini, and it is not Earth versus Space like all of the others are!
Guess people should just watch it see...

Yeah... i really related to reality somehow..honestly. Well, you know what happen in the middle east this day right? hope it don't turn out as bad as it does in the series..

Gundam is always awesome

Gundam its like a Highlander.
Imortal until some one cuts his head.
And I have sure that the heads of gundam series are so well protected by the Sunrise.
Gundam it`s onde of the most populars and famous franchises of Anime of all times.
Will have sequels until the end of the world.

Distinct characteristics of Mobile Suits of the four most prominent series.

Mobile Suit Gundam 0079

These Mobile suits can be said to be quite varied but they lack a sort of smooth interface. The mobile suits can be said to be quite the eye candy but they can be said to have an overflowing number of mechanical contraptions. The mobile suits are almost TOO well equipped giving them a sense of redundancy.

Mobile Suit Gundam Wing

The Mobile suits are easily the flashiest, exhibiting frilly armor and weapons that can be deemed to be rather impractical at times. It also makes use of the highly glorified "gem" attachments that serve unknown purposes. These gemlike attackments are for decorative purposes. Despite the appeal for Gundam Wing, it still holds the record for the most impractical Gundams in the series to date.

Mobile Suit Gundam Seed

Perhaps the beginning of Mobile Suits that can fight with flair. Unlike the mobile suits of the first two series, this series makes it plain to use each and every part to the last minute. The downside about these suits is their stature. Most of them look like a ripoff of the suits from Gundam 0079 with updated qualities. The Strike Freedom can almost certainly be a carbon copy of the Hi Nu Gundam. Most of the suits are simply updated versions of the old series but have a distinct stunted appearance from being a bit stocky.

Mobile Suit Gundam 00

Perhaps the best designed Gundams to date. Unlike the other series, these suits focused less on the outward appearance and more on the uses and derivations, leading to a much more streamlined design. The Union flag is primary example. Despite the fact that it is a non-standard mobile suit, it still retains one of the better suit designs, having a slim chassis and and a non-cumbersome transformed mode. The Gundams are also the biggest example of a form improvement. Extra details are cut to a minimum giving them a very advanced appearance and less of an overly extravagant design and yet they are still well armed. The key to making them look efective was to cut down on the useless parts and details. Once that was done you have a much better looking Gundam as the Dynames can attest.

The series keep getting more focused on real human issues. less "fanciful" you could say.

The whole relation to world events could cause issues in the future, remember how FMP was delayed due to the first plot arc involved a terrorist plane hijacking and then 9/11 happened? I can see something happening similar to that. It probably wont, but it is sure a possibility.

What do you guys think of Gundam 00 in regards as a sort of remake of Gundam Wing? Like how Gundam SEED was a loose remake of the original series. Personally, though i realize it is sometimes hard to come up with new and interesting ideas, i find it rather cheap to just rehash an old premise. Admittedly, Gundam 00 and Gundam Wing are different enough to pull it off, but it doesn't bode too well for the future of the Gundam franchise.

I don't think Gundam 00 is a remake of Gundam W, simply because it isn't an "us against them" army vs. army plotline. It's now an "us against the world" set in a timeline where terrorist movements are a total possibility. You're seeing a whole lot more of the political and world opinion end of this plot, where in Gundam W, you really only saw Zechs and Treize...not exactly a good representation of the world opinion.

I'd say Gundam 00 is the best incarnation of the series so far. I was getting tired of the "world wars" plot. This new twist and the new design of the mechs have opened my eyes wide that I want to collect the whole line of model kits from the series. Gundam Seed / Seed Destiny made me a model kit enthusiast and collector, Gundam 00 will further that addiction.

the gundam franchise seems to be heavily influenced by the events of september 11th

when american cartoon network et al stopped showing all violent cartoons (i.e. gundam)

and in gundam 00 also the theme of terrorism becomes much more prevalent & more modernized in the context of the iraq war

for example, in gundam wing the theme was also terrorism

but it really disregarded the negative effects of commiting terrorism on civilian populations

also things like how soldiers may not be the perfect angels & commit crimes as well (i.e. that throne gundam pilot girl who blasts away the wedding party)

Most of the gundam series were very good imo...save a few...

gundam00 is really awesome though, I'd recommend you give it a chance

First of its hard for me to say this because i was/am such a huge fan of seed but 00 is probably one of the most original gundam series it is very different from others and so far its pretty good. don't really see why people think of it as a remake or rip off or copy of wing i personally think its a very unique series the gundams themselves dont look to much like other gundams and yeah gundam is not going die any time soon.

They might have a problem brinig this o the u.s. with ali al sarshes being that world's version of osama.
