Gundam SEED, 00, and Remakes

I don't much like the idea that the newest two Gundam series are remakes of past series. Gundam SEED wasn't far from a verbatim remake of 0079, and numerous similarities are prominent as soon as the show starts, right up to (and including) the climactic final battle. Gundam 00 is said to be a remake of Gundam Wing, and though similarites can be found, I think it's doing a much better job than SEED at being it's own unique thing. What are your thoughts on the matter?
Please, don't use the term 'remake', because it isn't. A remake would be recreating something with the same content, on the other hand, Gundam 00 may resemble Wing, but it's merely an adaption. For me, Gundam 00 and Wing are two totally different entities, they may contain similar elements, but they're not the same. There's only one thing I can say, Gundam 00 has really exceeded my expectations, and I want more! :D
Seed has a heavy basis in Gundam 0079 (yes it does) but it is not a remake. If you noticed, the series does follow a very similar pattern but at the same time, it deviates quite a bit. They took heavy influences but the outcome was different as well as the story. But some things are undeniably the same like the Destroy and Big Zam.
Gundam 00's scenarios are loosely based on the current world situation as I've been observing. Its the more realistic Gundam than Wing, which I think has a plot line of imagined situations that isn't world opinion.

Then what would the Union Flag or the AEU Enact/Agrissa be? So far, no Mobile suit has ever incorporated a full visor LOL.
The New Throne Eins is without a doubt a combination of the Infinite Justice and the Buster though. It also has the long range capabilities of the Dynames as well as the firepower of the Virtue. The head crest is the clue in because the crest is without a doubt to be similar to Justice, Infinite Justice and the Aegis.
The Throne Zwei has no real basis in Gundam because no current gen Gundam has ever wielded a true Zweihander (Not the Buster swords that the Mobile Suits in Seed use) before nor has any current gen suit have Mobile pods that can melee attack.
The Drei also has no known mobile suit basis. The closest it can be considered is being similar to the Destiny Gundam but instead its power is the ability to spread Gn particles so wide that it covers a small country. Its combat system is similar to the O gundam.

I can see the similarities between 00 and wing in the fact that there are four gundams, but after that fact any others seems like your reaching. And i am suprised no one has brought up Gundam Seed Destiny. That show is about as close to Gundam Z as you can get without bandai having to sue themselves.
All Gundam series are produced by Sunrise and they own the rights to all of them. In other words Bandai has no say in what they do.

Perhaps "remake" was the wrong word. I agree with haruhis2kyon that calling them adaptations would be a better description. I didn't mean to imply i dislike SEED or 00 in any way, i think they were/are both good shows. I think i'm maybe expecting too much from wanting series as unique different as Gundam Wing and, say, G-Gundam. What do you think?

Well its not a remake but what i have noticed in gundam is that they use the past series as like a jump start until that series can evolve into something more unique there will always be similarities in gundam series but never a remake. but i think 00 is a very unique series so far its not much like other series.

In most series they us the same plot of sorts. Gundam Seed is pretty much a newer version of Mobile Suit Gundam. Though it is nice to see it anyways. So far Gundam 00 is in it's own section. Yeah it has "newtypes" when hasn't said it yet, but if you have watched the newest episode...

But all things considered, i really have never seen industrial grade suits of this calibur before. Basically, mass produced suits with the ability to match the gundams in one on one combat. A surprising first timer especially since the mass produced versions are unique and separate than even from throne and Celestial being. They are quite original. They carry beam sabers, a huge gun and unique to the Jinx suits, CIWS.
Well can't say Seed was a remake 0079 because i didn't not watch that series and i did not know that series existed but in Gundam 00 that it is a remake of Wing well yes i think it is a remake. There are many similarities on 00 and Wing. Specifically i don't like the story of Wing and it's battle scenes, but in 00 BAM!! The battle scenes are awesome and the story is well plotted for my opinion that is. If i choose between Seed and 00 i think they tied on my ranking 10 out of 10. 
I have to say that the SEED series were able to incooperate the emotions of the characters in to the battles very well. Gundam 00 also started doing that in the last few episodes. That was what I felt was lacking when the series spun off but now, it is getting awesome. Loved the way Startos Lockon showed his hatred in Episode 23. Hope there will be more scenes like this where the characters portray their emotions when battling.

Gundam 00 is not a remake of Wing, they really arn't similar at all. I can't believe people still think this.
