Loved the way Startos Lockon showed his hatred in Episode 23. Hope there will be more scenes like this where the characters portray their emotions when battling.

yes, i totally agree with you. I think Sunrise made the battle really touching. I'm almost cry when he last floating in the space and saying: "Do you like the world like this? I hate it" that's the most awesome words he ever said before

I just hate comparing SEED/SEED Destiny to 00...the change in art style and director alone makes them completely different from each other and past Gundam series. SEED and SEED Destiny was, to me, meant to appeal to more broad an audience than 00.

00 is deeper than SEED and its branch-off, not that SEED is super simplistic, I just feel that Gundam 00 takes more realistic situations (the irony...anime being realistic, lol) into account, and the director isn't afraid to kill off pivotal characters, a huge plus in my book. You can't just keep cramming a team full of new people, the older people need to retire as well.

On another note, I loved how episode 25 had a setup into season 2 (October...so longgggggg).

I wouldn't call Gundam 00 & Gundam Seed remakes of earlier series insofar as they do not copy wholesale elements from earlier series. Yes I know that Kira Yamato is supposed to be somewhat similar to Amuro Ray, but then again, the level of emotional complexity Gundam Seed weaves into Kira's dilemma over being a berserker killing machine or an average college student is what makes Gundam Seed a more stunning anime series IMO. However at the same time I also would not discount the fact that Gundam Seed did take a lot of stuff/ideas from 0079.

But, back to Gundam 00. Yeah this anime series definitely has way more depth in character-development that Gundam W. Gundam W did what it set out to do, I suppose; which was to capture a female fan base. Gundam 00, on the hand, actually recaptures the male audience's interest in Gundam again....after the tragedy that was Gundam Seed Destiny.

At least, it didn't start with gundam stolen from an armory...Lol but I don't think that gundam 00 is a remake of an other one...(maybe seed destiny is a little remake of seed but except this..)

I personally do not think Gundam Seed was a remake of 0079 at all, they has similarities but Seed had it's own two legs to stand on! Not a great series a far as story goes etc. but I think what made Seed special was the characters you could so easily fall for them and look at their growth throughout the series where as 0079 there was not such thing the story was the pivotal point in 0079 where Seed it was more character development!

Gundam Wing vs Gundam 00 I cannot really say since never watched Wing since it was kinda crap and could not last past ep4 so not going to comment but just on that basis alone Gundam 00 is better since I finished Season 1 of Gundam 00 and never finished Wing.

Gundam 00 really had a very interesting story and you could better relate to it in a sense of world happenings at the moment, the situation in the middle east and the religious wars and such little things which made it good to watch the characters were really interesting as well you know as little about them as can be but still managed to grow on you!

I do not think either is a remake, there is only so much you can do with Gundam stories and if some elements seem the same who cares enjoy it for what it is!

I just can say i hope the second season of 00 is not an remake of ancient Gundam series. And, in the next time of Gundam saga after 00 series, anyone who become a director of "the next Gundam series" must be find a new storyline of Gundam

I just can say the second season of Gundam 00 is not an replicant of oldest Gundam saga. BTW, Gundam 00 is not fully match with Gundam Wing. Gundam 00 have a new creation of Gundam design and "down to earth" concept story...

What I thought:

Gundam 0 = RX 78

every other gundam in 00 = RX 78 plus shit and weapons etc.
every other gundam in 00 = RX 78 + whatever cool gundams before and strip their weapons off to match.

I think all the similar elements like those between SEED and UC 0079 as well as 00 and Wing are elements that define or at least pay homage to the characteristics that make up the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise. Though it might be a bit annoying sometimes to see armory raid after armory raid, plot elements like that are what started the original story in the first place. Not to mention that it's pretty much the popular thing to do when people have been leaked information that their enemies have secretly built a powerful machine that can turn the tides in battle. As with 00, the whole four overpowered Gundams idea may have been a parallel to Wing, 00 makes up for that deja-vu feeling by having so many fresh ideas, to which GN-004 Nadleeh comes to mind at the moment.

Well i don't like comparing anime. It's all good to me so don't compare it but I like Gundam 00 better than some of the others cause there's no masked guys plotting something unlike all the others

I don´t see Gundam 00 as a remake from Gundam Wing, the plot has some similarities, but no more than that.
Gundam 00 is more dark than Wing. In GW the Gundam Pilots have the support of most colonies. In Gundam 00, Celestial Being is almost alone, is a paramilitar corporation that tries to erradicate war beeing both; judge and executor, putting themselves in a difficult situation cause in a caotic world like we seing in the series, their are the alternative to choose, but not to accept.
Their are a non-political solution to a worl too political and cinical...
The gundam meisters are feared and hatred, their acts are allways seeing like a provocation an there is no escape from them. They put their heads in the guillotine to make a better world. The Gundam Pilots that we see in GW, fight a war from independence. To liberate Colonys from oppression and no more tahn that.

I do think that Gundam Seed is much more alike Gundam 0079.
Cause there are a primary pilot that "founds" a mobile Suit and starts to using it to protect the ones who love. There is a "legged ship" that has to run across the galaxy to find a safe way to reach home.

Even though I didn't watch 0079, I think Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny were great production that Sunrise has. The feature was good, the characters were well drawn, the colours were well used. Even though the story may have some similarities, it was still interesting and attractive. Therefore, I don't think there was wrong since all the gundam series are produced by Sunrise.^^

The problem was that SEED is a remake. White ship (Archangel, Trojan Horse), The same legged docking bays, Single white suit facing opposition. The only difference is that the enemy has Gundams too, the stolen suits (hated that theme). but we definitely have vast similar elements, Skygrasper, Destroy (Big Zam anyone?) and of course the central white suit. There is also the Seed element which pretty much RIPS OFF NEWTYPE and the Zeon which pretty much is the pre-Zaft idea. Heck, Zakus, Ginns, DOMs, GuAiz, they ripped EVERYTHING OFF!

Hell, the only remotely original character is Athrun Zala, one of the few main characters ever to run a Red/pink/Maroon suit and still dominate the antagonists with it. He is the only one in the series who has not sold out to Dragoon pods and special gimmicks.

00 on the other hand forsakes most of the other elements for a more modern feel. They got Gundams but none of them are swiss army knives. (Except for Exia since he literally is swimming in blades) but that is besides the point. Most of the suitd are built for a purpose and the beautifully made Union Flags are a testament to how they have updated the mobile suits to a more modern feel. Also, NO STOLEN GUNDAMS (huzzah!). Ali is an exception but he did it in a badass way and it wasn't even like he just jumped into the cockpit. He killed Micheal just to get a new Hot rod. The only problem I have is that there are no prominent female pilots. (No, Nena is annoying, she does not count.)
