I guess I would have to say my suggestions would be..

1. To fix the unnecessary pages for the scan and wallpaper sections. There are sometimes up to 4 pages of just stating there are no pictures there.

2. Maybe we could have an avatar (non-animated) section like how we have the wallpaper and scan section ^_^. We could then split them into size so people could search for the size the forum or journal asks for ^_^.

[3] I know some people are wanting to receive PM when some one comments on their wallpaper, like dA, but really it will flood the inbox. And The "View recent comment on my wallpaper" section is good enough to see if an OLD wallpaper has been commented on.

[4] I don't know if this is just me but the advertising banner "Don't click here" stays over the scroll down menu and is really annoying.

Like a "Rapid Wallpaper" XD competition? Say every 6 months? Or any random competition.

We could have a wallpaper competition, and all the members that will participate
be drawn and pitted against each other...like a soccer game.

But the wallpaper must be made in 1 or 2 hour. To overcome the time problem, you could release the information about which scans will be used by which two wallers.

After that, judging of round 1 and winner moves up...this may take a while and probably wont be considered haha but yeh just a suggestion.

And there should be like a few categories of king... like Vector, Scenic, Funny, Dramatic, Original. Like the "Iron Chef" TV show

You can set a wallpaper to represent each of the above mentioned category and they will stay on the "King" page. And like iron chef, every few months or monthly if possible....allow the waller of AP to take over and challenge the "kings"

How this may work is they will submit a wallpaper and state which "king" they challenge. And after that a panel of judges (maybe mods) can vote and see if its worthy of replacing the current "king"

Or maybe make it so that a waller can submit challenge (wallpaper) only once a month for each category.

A new CSS style for v6 is unnecessary. I like the current CSS style ChaosKaizer made, I say it should stay as it is. But that's just me, if CK wants to make a new one then I guess that's fine as well ^^

No there should be a new CSS!..Its gotta be the one CK has on her site..Which changes according to time ^____^

I really like the paper donation idea. Hmm how about the ability to block users from PMing you? Like you could have an option where only people from your friend list/your watching list could PM you. That way you won't get people spamming your inbox.

~Also I liked Happykari's idea with having a section for Avatars. In addition, perhaps having a section for Avatars and Banners :D this would be very intresting I think. Then users can search Haruhai/Banners/AWESOME HARUHI banners!

~ I also liked the idea brought up about showing Edited Wallpapers so that AP members could get feedback on walls that they have already gotten comments on a month before. I think that this would encourage AP members to actually listen to the comments SOMETIMES and Edit their walls when needed.
~Also I liked the idea of Getting rid of the Tag system, and using genre as well. personally i NEVER use the tag system because it is way too MUCH to scroll through and look through etc. Tags like, 'blue' could be replaced with the option to view wallpapers with certian color schemes just like how it is displayed below current wallpapers, but instead of just being located there make it under the Wallpaper/scans/Banner/avatar center.

Other than that i just have to say that you guys do a great job keeping the AP usergroup more than just a forum site, but a anime-lovers DREAM SITE! I have faith in CK'z and Bantams and admins decisions on AP v6. ill probably think of more things to post soon hehe

I'd like a separate category for VECTORS. Vectoring is a huge thing now and there are so many. They are considered artwork, even if they're based on a scan. And some vectors are modified from the scans. Vectors deserve comments and faves too ^^

Categories in AP's gallery are based on the anime/game/manga/artist itself. And if you are refering to normal non-anime 3DSMax/Corel/Illustrator/etc vector art (like DA's), then it would be a no as it is out of AP's core focus.

That we usually leave it to the groups to organize their own competition. Mods are currently busy with the upkeep of the site and the Galleries in particular as well as handling real-life obligations (I believe most of us already have jobs in real life). And we don't really have anything to offer to the winners as well.

This next paragraph (in italic) is my own personal opinion here and does not reflect the views of other mods/admins. Based on experience on what I have seen throughout my 7 years of being in the anime walling community and observing the various competitions held, winners tend to regularly come from a small pool of skilled and experienced wallers. The competition is not exactly there. Other submissions usually just end up as "making up the numbers".

Who gets to be King is a very subjective issue here and mods do not have the time to go over so many wallpapers just to select one King for each respective category. What one thinks is good/unbeatable may not hold true for another.

Showcase is automatically selected by the system. Even the mods do not have any role in selecting what gets showcased.

AP's focus is on wallpapers. Currently we do not have any intention of having an Avatar or Banner section. Having one would open up AP to submissions harvested from other sites/websites and we do not have any way of verifying whether it is their own work. Plus, anyone can just capture a screenshot, resize, spruce it up and maybe add in text and then call them an avatar/banner.

There's been a lot of good suggestions. Here are the ones I like (as well as some of my own):

-I agree that vectors should be separate from scans, just to make them easier to spot and find. Also, I think that vectors should earn more papers than scans (but not necessarily more papers than walls) because they are more labor-intensive. To keep people from trying to spam with bad vectors, I think that the standards for them should stay pretty stringent.

-I like the paper donation idea not just so that people could give papers to individual members, but also for members to be able to sponsor contests for the entire site or for their groups. For example, a group could sponsor a wall contest with the winner getting papers donated by other group members.

-I think that similar to the gallery section, you should be able to request new titles be added to the anime section. Also, a nice thing for the beyond v6 would be to have a similar manga section.

-I'd like to see the friend/watchlist be revamped a bit. It'd be cool to get a daily update (as opposed to PMs for every single thing) with everything your friend has done for that day ("blank" has posted ## scans, ## wallpapers, and ## entries on his/her journal).

-Lastly, I'd like to see a highlighted scan/vector on the frontpage. Although walls take a whole lot more work, there are some excellent scanners here who go above and beyond the minimum requirements and not just in resolution. It might also be cool to do that to highlight something unique and rare that may have been overlooked.

Well, I suggest what everybody seems to suggest too.. ^_^
1. Please remove the bugs scattered around the groups. If it's possible
2. Those wallies who are displayed at the main page of AP, make it more random. Coz every now and then, same wallies are been displayed.
3. More CSS... if it's possible too. ^_^'
4. For groups, specifically on the number of topics can be displayed. Can you extend or increase the maximum nos. of topics can be presented. I know it will make the main page of the group longer, maybe about 12 topics as the maximum is enough ^_^. Coz those really active groups have lots of active threads and you know members are lazy to click the "view more" thing. hehe ^_^
and lastly, can the admins of different groups can have the ability to give papers. I mean, in contests, it is more easier if we can give papers to the winners rather than downloading scans then give it to them... just a suggestion...

Personally I think that paper donation is a bad idea... it wouldn't be much difference to me probably, but for those who have over 100000 papers, they will be spammed on UP, PM and God knows where by all the people who think only about downloading and not about being part of community...

unless there will be a strict rules and merciless punishments for beggars

I am thinking of adding a search engine for members.
as even I sometimes type the wrong member name on the link.
especially some who are not on my list of friends.

Isnt there already something like that? o_O when you click the quick tools button at the top right hand corner of the page and then hit search AP members.

well, I would suggest setting a maximum- wall comments-per-day limit instead of just a wall download limit. I also like the advanced scan tags idea, and maybe there could be captchas whenever someone posts, ex. 10 posts in a short amount of time.

Also, maybe an option to turn off emots =__= they kinda lag... *points up*
