Laptops or desktops?
PC anyday, I can open it up and tinker with it, I tried that with a laptop once. Never again.
Desktop's are more powerful in less money... But in about 4 years, almost everyone will buy a laptop because the prices will greatly fall and yeah, you will have a top-notch gfx card in it...
I'll go with laptops, for portability... (An Apple-laptop is the best!)

xxsodapopxx5for me i would prefer a desktop, but right now i am typing on a laptop... i am used to typing on both, but i play video games and that almost requires a desktop... i also dont have enough money for an exspensive laptop that is really good... mine is only like 1200 dollars, for one that i could play games decently it would cost me almost 2500 dollars(american)... i also like having a mouse and keyboard.
so which do you prefer?
I prefer a good old desktop. There's nothing better than being on a "real" computer that has a big screen and a VERY fast internet connection ^_^

I prefer the PC more while I'm at home. I've been using the regular keyboard for too long. My laptop's keyboard is way too small; I always keep tapping the wrong keys or two or more keys at the same time. The laptop has its advantages, though, for when I'm at school or away from home on vacation.

Desktop, because of the vast upgradable choice.
Although I also had a laptop to carry on for mobile activity.

Desktops, they're more versatile. You can just do more with them.
However, saying that. I wanted a laptop >.>

Yeah, laptops are fast becoming really fashionable things to have. As a student, a notebook is unbeatable :P It does still cost more on average, but there are plenty of budget notebooks on the market and external peripherals are also easy to get, like optical drives and extra storage... even external audio processors and TV hardware. It's cool to have a laptop at the centre of the setup, because you can unplug it and take the basic functionality with you and then hook it back up to your secondary monitor, speakers, hard drives and so on when you get back home.
As for desktops being more versatile or upgradeable, that might be true but does the average person use those capabilities? I don't think so. Just upgrading things like getting additional memory... since the mid-range computer you can buy is enough for just work, a bit of Photoshop and some heavy internet use (I bet this is how most people on this forum use their computers!) As long as you have a nice monitor, keyboard and mouse so interacting with the computer is comfortable.

I prefer Desktops and for mobility i use a Palm.
If you have a choice then go for the Desktop. the problem with laptops is that you need to be careful not to break them and have a power supply near if using the CD/DVD-ROM.

Desktop is much preferable since i can change all the gadget inside it according to what i want
how i want, when i want it :) and plus the price for desktop item much more cheaper than laptop/notebook at my place

As for me, I prefer my laptop over my desktop. My desktop is a gaming system and all but i still can play some games on my laptop. Once you get a laptop it’s hard to go back to a desktop (2nd laptop I owned the past year.)
I got both but I prefer to use my desktop over my laptop. The problem is that sometimes I need to have my computer with me for projects, school or things like that and I will need it when I'm done with school (hopefully).

Desktop without a doubt because they're more evolutive. I always modify my config so it's better.
A laptop is too expensive and overheats too much and there's very few abilities for evolution.

WordplayDesktop for gaming and regular working, laptop when you know you won't be at home that much (e.g: if you like to travel).
That pretty much sums it up for me pluss anyway my desktop is a peice o crap the disk drives stopped worrking and its been fried twice once my uncle once and then my friend fried it. I do wish i had a laptop though
I love my desktops there much more versitle. biger screens and easy to upgarde, and you'll never get 2TB in to a laptop. (id have no where to put my anime :P) laptops are only good for school and work.
I agree with laptop for work. right now i'm saving up money for a powerbook. cause powerbooks just got way better since apple make a deal with intel. my friend got one of the new ones, and the speed is just incredible compared to a pentium 4 desktop. but this is only for programs like PS and Word and stuff. for games, definitly a windows desktop.
