Laptops or desktops?

Actually, I just got a MacBook Pro which are the new laptops with the Intel chips by Apple. It is really really fast. Nice and speedy but for Photoshop right now it isn't that great yet, you have to wait until Adobe actually comes out with a Universal version of PS to get a real nice speed boost and to actually take advantage of those core duo processors in them. Just wanted to say other than that awesome computer. And if you decide to take advantage of their new bootcamp thing its pretty fast running windows to even in games.
It all depend on the situation. For ultimate movility there is nothing better than a good laptop like the ones created by falcon norwest and alienware. Of course nothing beats a desktop simply because there is not enough room to put a lot of stuff on a laptop. The power that can be achieved by a desktop is unsurpass. You can create the ultimate desktop if you have the money ofcourse.

I would have to say laptops. They are a lot eaiser to use, and you carry it around wtih you. That comes in handy when you are a college student going to college. Destops are useful, but only for home use I think.

I've never had a laptop before and I've never though of getting one. My happy with my vaio desktop computer since it's much more powerful than a laptop. With a 3GHZ and 512 MB 333MHZ DDR memory with a Radeon 9200, yeah I know it's an old video card, but I don't mind. As long as I have a great computer that play games really well without lag, than im happy. I know some games I can't play, that's why I have my xbox 360 and gamecube. :p If I ever had a choice of buying a laptop, I rather spend that money on clothes or food or something rather than another computer. ^_^

I like a gaming laptop or a desktop replacement laptop. I like it because of the portability pretty much. I mean a gaming rig pretty much handles anything you toss at it so i have no complaints. Then again with a desktop you can always upgrade parts rather than your whole PC. But you have to ask yourself will you really need to upgrade every year just to keep up? I mean my laptop just hit 1 year old and it's running great. I got a dell i9300 with the works (100gb hdd, 8x dvd-rw, 17", 2gb Ram, 6800Ultra) and I got it for $1600 shipped. I can't complain! I mean I did add a few things to it but still pretty decent! I don't find any problems with it at all. If there is a system slowdown I just run diskeeper and that's it. If that doesn't fix it then a clean install fixes the problem right away. I always keep a backup so I don't lose track of things. But all in all I like my laptop. But don't get me wrong, I still have a desktop that I tinker with and that keeps me occupied whenever I'm bored. But spec wise, my desktop kills my laptop 10 times over.
BOTH... heheheh i like desktops cuz i can upgrade it and play games which have hardware breaking graphics...
Laptops for creating graphics (using photoshop of cource) and for making sites so i can do them wherever i go. and still play some low quality games... XD
(love to go outing so both will be good enough)

LAPTOPS - but never just any laptop. Laptops are like the leisurely computer.. I still use a dsektop because it lets me get a crapload done and buying a laptop capable of gaming(like high-end graphics accelerator needed gaming) is never really all that wise. On a desktop it is much easier to get rid of a graphics card to put a better one in it's place. In most laptops this is never an option.
