Google Chrome Impression
Anyone here tried the new browser from Google called Chrome yet?
I just downloaded it and is using it right now. I have to say I am very impressed by it even though it is still "beta"
It treated tabs as independent processes so if the browser would still be functional even if one of the tabs crashed.
It also has a very efficient engine. It loads pages like gmail, animepaper, facebook..etc. a lot quicker than IE7 or FF3
The layout is very stylish and efficient too. There only thing that lacks is "add ons" that Firefox has
I may even use Chrome as my default my browser from now on.

All i can say is 10mb or RAM used when 150 tabs were open compared to 33mb of RAM used for FF3 for 1 tab. But still i like my lolifox =D
I'm using it. Can say wow for speed, for good idea and for simplicity. It passed even acid2 and almost passed acid3 test, that was a nice surprise. Even in JavaScript comparison test among the browsers is Chrome the leader.
The most funny thing thought is the Tab Task Manager that is quite an interesting function and I lack more option values for settings etc.. But I already sold my identity to Google, so another Google friendly application would ruin me. Therefore I won't probably use it

Interestingly, IE8b2 also does this.
The thing I'm most excited about with Chrome is its use of IL's (it mimics IE's Protected Mode, something Firefox should have done two years ago). The fact that it has DEP enabled is also nifty.

I've gotta say, I'm quite impressed.
I had Firefox 3.0.1 running perfect for me, but after using Chrome for 6 hours or so straight I've switched completely.
I still keep Firefox around for those sites that Chrome doesn't handle well yet (ie Facebook anyone?) but for the most part it's great.
I wish I could open a bookmarks tab folder in tabs with a middle click like I used to though... oh well.
It IS a beta after all.

I'm using it right now as I post this. So far I'm liking it. Its extremely fast and it doesn't take up too much resources. I had problems at first when some sites didn't load. I later found out thru my fidling that my anti-virus (Kaspersky) was the culprit. It appears that Chrome accesses URLs a bit differently than what FF and IE do, so Kaspersky thinks its some sort of a URL injection or whatnot.
Still its very promising. Its still in the beta stage but once it goes mainstream I hope they clean up a lot of the issues.

I am using it right now i find it much faster then FF3. i think this will become my default browser. so far no problems but i have only been using it for like 2 hours.

It will be interesting how the browser wars will pan out, but one thing is for certain is that Chrome doesn't exactly eat into Internet Explorer's marketshare, but will definitely eat into Firefox's. If you think about it, the demographics that will willingly go out of their way to download Firefox (instead of using the perfectly usable stock IE that comes with Windows, or Safari with Macs) are probably the same people that will adopt Chrome to see what it's about. Internet Explorer users are typically satisfied with the default browser and would not waste the effort to try something new.
With that said though, I don't think Google's main objective is that of a browser; I believe they wanted something that, besides being able to browse the internet, also replace the OS as the main element to do work with. So instead of being stuck on Microsoft Word this or Apple something else, if one can do all the work on a browser like Chrome, one can technically do any work on any computer with just Chrome. That's Google's main objective. How will it work? Only five years or so will tell...

Firefox 3.1 is using a new javascript engine so it will be more competitive in speed. =)
and be careful with chrome, people have found numerous security vulnerabilities in it. i would recommend keeping both browsers and using firefox to visit less trustworthy sites.
but yeah, surfing the web with chrome feels great. i can't wait for their first real release.

I'm using it right now and so far it looks superb. Very fast and efficient. I haven't messed with everthing yet but so far I'm impressed with Google's new web browser.
I have only ONE problem. Chrome don't have scroll button! (Perhaps it's bases on WebKit). For this, i stay with my FF :D
I had reservations initially.
I was somewhat hesitant due to my increasing dependency on plugins like no-script and adblock plus, but with some proxy based jiggery pokery all is well and I now use Chrome as my default browser. It will however be a lot more comfortable when the updates for Chrome come out for programs like Spybot.

Chrome sure fast right now
but it seem that it's to simple when I tried download some thing I have to retype the file to be save that's lame not like FF3 or Opera it save by the time we type it and also there no scroll button and that's lame but I think it still in progress

Well only used it for a hour or two, I believe it to just a answer for everyone who wants a speedy browser. Yes it is faster at rendering both HTML and JavaScript than any other browser right now. However, there are several security risks since it is till in its beta stage. Its lack of features is very disturbing to me as well. I loved the simple design, leaves a lot of open space for well web browsing.
I just hope Google sticks to web standards as much as possible, or as a web designer it will be just another programming nightmare.
