As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!

I am an avid fan of house and techno music, unlike other pathetic narrow minded people who listen to their boybands and generic craptologist daily orderings, I believe lyrics and songs singing together is lame, and old.

House music and dance music in general is reaching an all new high in certain parts of the world, leading like a storm in Malaysia, from Singapore, the largest glamor superclub ZOUK hosts great gatherings and rave parties outdoor and indoor each year, great sponsors host multiple DJs and Underground artists events such as Salem's Revolution and REgeneration parties down at Genting Highlands, and all sorts of great events happening all over the place.

The music is pure sound and beats, channeling between using lots of beats to minimal and funk revolving tunes to gather an audience's attention and listening, it is also a great trend that is constantly expanding into new territories and endlessly expandable without horizons.

While lyrics and songs are lameness, why? How many of the market's top songs are all boy bands, emo punk rockers, and crap like that? I mean, real artists don't even get real recognition anymore, but westlife, mongoose bands, get all their undeserved attention.

and you know what? 90% of the songs are love songs... OMG! the shock!

Time to turn to sounds for comfort, that is why I love techno and all forms of dance music, not only is it dance-able, it is party made, and fun to listen as well as original, the endless spans of creativity is wonderful.
Currently I am onto the new CD of Disco Kandi by Hed Kandi productions, wonderful tracks.

I even recommend some www.grooveradio.com (my fav station) for your underground music needs.
so tell me, who are your artists of dance music choice, recommend me some tunes, as well as albums and stuff.

You've got point there... It's so true... All those same love lyrics all the time! But most of the people listens to this! T_T.

In my class I am the only that listens to techno/industrial/trance and house... And everybody thinks I am weird! What the hell? Why? Because I listen to something different? Because I don't listen to Greenday?! or Christina Aguilera? Oh come on... what's wrong with those people? Even most of my friends dislike techno T_T.

Techno music is almost like forbidden in my country... It's extremely rare to find a fan of this music. However there are some parties, indoors as well as outdoors. Too bad that entrance fee is damn high! About 300 - 450CZK (= 12 - 20USD)... Me and my friend (yes only 1 friend) often visit parties like that. ^^

If you're into progressive house, these are the DJs who I'll recommend:

James Zabiela
Sasha
Armin Van Buuren
Nic Fancuilli
Paul Van Dyk

They are awesome, with wicked music!

well. that is more to techno pop, not exactly professional dance music, but yeah, it counts.

I listen to all of these except for van Dyk, his music is trance and trance techno based than progressive house, in fact, I thought he is more to trance and deep trance depending on where is playing. Live sets sound a bit different from his releases tho.

I'm a big electronica fan if that counts ^_^

Although I did used to dwell in techno albeit because of my older brother, who worked as DJ Agent at our local clubs. He'd always bring home case-fulls of beats and techno LP records. In fact I have a stack on the floor of my closet I use as a stepping stool to get to the upper shelf XD

I'm not too into trance though, just not my style. I'm a sucker for electronica and dance/rock fusions, i'd say a little more than 1/2 of the 76 GB of music on my itunes is electronic in one way or another (although not necessarily techno). I have a very open mind when it comes to music, but I also tend to stray from mainstream pop and rock boybands (ie: MTV crap). I used to play guitar and listen to Hendrix, so I got alotta classic rock too.

By the way, I love DDR music, I have almost every song from the series XD I also have a deep love for Daft Punk, and I even have the action figures from their movie (in addition to the DVD itself).

Trance, I love it, the serene fusion of 'digital beats' and the classical rhythms and instruments, I've got the entire Trancemaster series, I absolutely love it. Techno well industrial techno is nice, some other techno gets on my nerves, weird!

House and Rave is great stuff too, especially for parties, gets any party going.

I've a problem with Dance because I'm not exactly sure what it is. Let me explain, to me Dance music is simply RMXs of Mainstream/Pop/RnB/etc songs. Some people say thats Trance or Techno hence its all a mess. Someone clear it up for me? Much Appreciated!

they can be sold for 1p at the local bargain store where DJs do hunting you know, that is what I do if I am looking for old stuff.
I suppose you are also a fan of Basement Jaxx and Chemical Brothers?

Truth, most DJs warm up with house before moving to the main music.
Trancemaster seris... I think I heard of that sometime ago, funnily appealing since I dropped trance, maybe I am getting nostalgic lol.
Industrial is practically the same as Techno as mainstream, not much of a difference, maybe more beats and deeper bass but definitely nothing much different. In fact, I am all for main stream techno, and funk.

well, dance music began as a rebellion to MTV crap, and thus a revolution to make sounds only into music was made, it is beginnings are actually like what you said, remixes, than as it evolves, subgenres and genres become different sorts of art. Along came the form of artists who even specififcally produces sounds and raw material for remixers.
If you ever hear Steve Lawler's first few albums released on MIxmag, you should know that there is a few albums that contain natural sounds of water flowing and birds chirping, those are from live records provided by individuals who observe these sounds in the while.

That is where it spreads out, sounds in dance music is not always limited to songs and man-made love songs, which is funny cause MTV and those people who are haters think we are stupid for liking noise, which is not true as we have a different taste.
and Dance music spreads through diverse cultural differences, tribal and jungle for example from some leading tribal masterfuls even went so far as incorporate the sounds of real tribespeople singing.

rather from its humble beginnings as a genre of music that just takes other music to remix, dance music is endlessly expandable and genres from every nook and cranny of the world is spread everywhere anytime across the world. In fact, the whole world itself is a part of the music inspiration to dance music.

As far as house goes I would try James Holden - Balance 005 (easily one of the best sets I've listened to in years). Hernan Cattaneo is good as well and his Renaissance: The Master Series vol. 1 is excellent. Dave Seaman is very housey and check out his Renaissance: Desire mix. The genre of house can vary a lot and it depends on what people think is good. I like the progressive house style the best and if you're looking for deep, sexy, and smooth house give Miguel Migs - Nude Tempo a try.

Nearly 90% of my music collection is house/trance related so if you need any more recommendations feel free to ask more questions. I recommend listening to the progressive house/trance genre if you like intelligent, flawlessly mixed, and snazzy beats. Nick Warren, Sander K, Sasha, and John Digweed have been my personal favorite DJs that I've always kept my eyes on. It does take a while for the genre to grow on you and it is mostly a binary reaction. You either love it or hate it. The global underground series has always been a winner in my opinion and the newer ones are nothing, but top notch. GU: 027 Miami and GU: 028 Shanghi are always getting into my playlists at some point or another. The most influential album I own is Involver by Sasha. The way it is done and put together is inspiring.

I would say that dance has been the slowest genre when it comes to keeping up with the times. I recommend the classics such as the Vengaboys - The party album! and Robert Miles - Dreamland. Delerium's older works is worth a look and I loved Poem. If you're not a vocals fan it may not be your cup of tea. Delerium has always been good at keeping things fresh and having different singers guest star in his albums. The best dance compliation I own is the Best of Dance Hits Supermix. It a few years old pre-2000 I believe, but good in composition and content.

I like techno and trance alot. I used to have it playing all the time but I have been interested in Utada of late... I still listen to techno when it comes on my iPod while I have it on random. It allways brings back memories when I here some of those songs now and again. ^-^ Such good beats!

Aye Johnfeider, glad to hear a genuine fan of the genre, rare to hear from my parts of the world.
Even rarer to hear anime fans interested in this genre of music due to the obscurity.
I enjoyed Underworld a lot, but their music is best remixed, when Dave Seaman did one for Jumbo, it was damn great, plus hearing his life set was a real treat.

Then anyone heard of Andy Casselle? He played live at my hometown at LUSH too. Very nice man.

Techno is my fave kind of music.

Tribal flavoured compositions by the likes of Sammuel L Sessions and Christian J make me all goopy...
But Underground Resistance, Mad Mike, Jeff Mills, Kevin Saunderson, Octave One... hell, thats the kind of tuneage that makes me dance my ass off till 6am

Long Live Detroit Techno

:)
