J-Rock
Here's some of my favorites:
Sparta Locals*, Asian Kung-Fu Generation, Beat Crusaders, 9mm parabellum bullet*, Vola and the Oriental machine*
* = just released a new album / 9mm parabellum bullet has an upcoming release in May ( the 11th I think)
Ever heard of em? Sparta Locals, 9mm parabellum bullet, and Vola... aren't as mainstream as Asian Kung-fu generation, but they're definetly worth a listin to.

I haven't listened to any of them before. I've heard of them, but that's about it. I'm a huge Dir en grey fan. I was so excited when their newest album came out this year. I also like alice nine, an cafe, HYDE, the Gazette, Phantasmagoria, Nightmare, etc. I'm always listening to new ones so my list is much longer.
The band that did the second ending song for Kyou Kara Maou, Bon'z, was really great. But I can't find anything on them. Oh well, I'll keep searching.
I'm not sure where you're from, but here...I get some weird looks when I have the cd player in my car turned way up. I don't think anyone actually knows it's Japanese I'm listening to!
What about those bands you listed makes you like them? For me, it's a combo of things as to why I listen.

I used to follow Jmusic before more than I do now.
A lots of bands I liked disbanded or dissapeared. I was a fan of the visual kei style, but from all the bands I liked, only Kagrra is still working.
Malice Mizer was my favourite, it was a shame it disbanded, but at least Gackt went succesfully solo; he is my favourite singer: i like his voice, his music and his looks xD
I usually listen to Arc en Ciel, Buck Tick, Tokyo Jihen...

Yay, someone who knows Buck-Tick, I'm releived ^^ I like them too ^^
And I'm searching for guitar tabs from them but I can't find any

If you're searching for tabs, ebay might have them. I know they have everything else! Hmm...I think the only band that I listen to that has been together for a long time is Dir en grey. I believe they could sing polka and I'd still listen. I've listened to Buck Tick, but the lead singer man has a scary face! Oh well!
Atsushi has a scary face? ^^ You are the first person who tells me that ^^
Unfortunately, they are getting old but I think they don't look as their ages ^^ If you find some pictures about their old self, you may won't say the scary adjective again ^^

Okie dokie! 8)...so no scary face then?

I listen to Japanese music in my car a lot, but I usually don't look at other people to see if they notice...>< Of course they might just think you're listen to english rock, and that they just can't understand it...
Most of the bands I listed have an upbeat/fast paced sound which I normally like, and they each have their own unique sound.

I love Gackt, and his dance moves. ^^ I've also heard that Hyde (from La'arc en Ciel) and Gackt started a new band, but I haven't heard any of their songs as of yet.
I love Dir en grey because 1.They're all hot 2. Kyo has the most amazing voice ever and 3. The lyrics are always non-happy!
I love alice nine because Shou's voice is so flipping deep! Talk about dreamy! And it's so easy to sing along!
I love Nightmare because the songs do sound kinda upbeat and Yomi is really hot too!
I love an cafe because they're just hilarious! Miku is so funny!
A new one, Abingdon Boys School, featuring TMR as the singer, is another great one! They did the opening to D. Gray-man! Check it out!
HYDE...he's just hot and has a wonderful voice! And I loved his Faith album! The lyrics were pretty deep in a simple way.
I'll think of some more later!

(ohh, the quote button doesn't want to work)
~lonewolf's sentence, the 'I love Gackt, and his dance moves. ^^ ' made me remember to a similarity. Yeah, Buck-Tick again...
I've seen a concert on dvd, where Imai (the ecentric guitarist [sorry Imai-san ^^']) swinged his waist. ^^ I think it was when they played their Dress song.
Anyway, he alwys dances ^^ It really is a cheerful sight, so if you haven't seen it, you should and when you get the chance, take it ^^

But of course (to both your Pillows comment and the Asian Kung Fu Generation one).
Well, my favorite is Maximum the Hormone. They never stop amazing me with their songs! Such a fun band to listen to! ^_^
I have first heard them in the Death Note's second opening and ending. It surprised me at first but I think, one can love them easily. That two songs are fast and something unusual. And that some others that I've heard are too.
