After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

I used to think it was crazy to like instrumental! But although my mp3 player is completely filled with lyrical music, I sometimes just liek to sit back and listen to the Super Smash Bros. Brawl tracks or some nice classical music for a nice change of pace.

Lyrical > Instrumental, but they both have their place in me.

I like both in the sense that it's not about whether there are lyrics or it's just instrumental. It me it depends on the type of music (slow, fast, rock, pop, etc)

But there are times when I will want to listen to instrumental (reading) and when I listen to ones with lyrics (in the car)

Singing and playing music are two different talents. If you can do both, then you're amazing (or I think so). Personally, I prefer both in a nice mix.

I like bands that can do both. But I have to say that I like it when bands sing in languages that I can't understand, because that way I can see the music as more of a whole piece instead of just a vocalist and some band to back the vocalist up. ofc, often it's still like that, but anyway...

I would say a good mix of two.

Lyrical
Lyrical is not all that bad. I have come across some very nice meaningful lyrics. Some may be simple but they have a hidden meaning in them and when you understand what the lyrics are portraying you will really love it and just wanna listen to it over and over again. For example the one on my journal right now. Having lyrics is good because some poeple can relate to them and its good. Also this songs can pick you up when you're feeling down.

Instrumental
Ahh instrumental song..they are so lovely and can help you relax and the nice slow soft ones are great to listen to when studying. I have like the whole Fruits Basket: Four Season ones on my MP3 player and they are great to listen too. Sometimes when you just wanna listen to music to relax and don't want any singing in it instrumental music is perfect!

So, really i don't think you should listen to just one but both because they are good in their own ways. When you need a pick-me-up song lyrical music are good but when you just want to relax then instrumental music works wonders. So a good mix of two is realy the best...well thats what i think anyway lol. X3

I like both of them. It depends on the situation and my mood. I prefer to hear instrumental every time I'm going to sleep or tired. But actually the music style plays the biggest part. For instrumental, I like classics, piano or violin instruments. For lyrical, I like many pop musics, gospel, R&B, and 'classics' such as Enya, Josh Groban, and many more.

Hmm although most of my songs are lyrical, some of my favourite songs are instrumental. but the instrumental songs that i listen to arent classics or anything, its just from the anime osts or BGM (background music) =0 my favourite instrumental was the BGM from FMA. hmm now that i think bout it, the previous poster is right bout the fact that listening to lyrical or instrumental is based on the my moods 0=

I think both are great in music. Sometime the lyrical aspect is better in some songs but the same could go for instrumental.

Music is universal, and the only reason alot of people likes music with lyrics is because that's what we're exposed to nowadays, they're being played on popular radio stations, being played on TV, the artists are being put in magazines. It's what our society is being exposed to. IF we were only exposed to instrumental music then we'd bel iking that. I play a few instruments and personally I do prefer music with lyrics but some music with beautifully played instruements are awesome as well.

I usually like music with good instrumentals, good music usually comes from the tune behind it. But also the lyrics make a plus in music and even more when the person has a wonderful voice which is sometimes music in itself. n_n But I would have to say it's mostly all in the instrumentals, I don't need lyrics to enjoy a song, lyrics are usually just a plus.

For me it depends on what mood I am in. I usually listen to lyrics when I am driving around in my car and need to stay awake. Lyrics give you something to focus on and depending on the song lyrics can make or break it.

That said I also really enjoy instrumental songs, I have been learning to play the guitar for the past year or so and I have a much greater appreciation for what musicians can do with an instrument. The song Cliffs of Dover by Eric Johnson is a great example; if that song had lyrics I do not believe it would be nearly as good. The same can be said of many classical music, Beethoven and Chopin did amazing things only using the instruments of the time.

In my opinion a song does not have to have lyrics to be great; but if it does not the musician needs to really go that extra mile to make it worth while.

Instrumentals will always be better than lyrical songs.
I've listened to a ton of music throughout my life and one trend that I keep noticing, especially nowadays is that for a lot of mainstream music, the beats are taken from techno songs or remixed versions of other songs. The originality is lost for most lyrical songs nowadays. However, artists that consists of a band, i.e. Linkin Park, Muse, Dragonforce, have a ton of originality as they write their own music and don't take beats from other songs and just sing on top of it. I especially enjoy listening to a lot of metal as I feel that it is music in it's purest form. It's not the lyrics that make songs good, it's the beat. The only reason people enjoy lyrics is so they can sing along.
A song is nothing without the instruments, however, a song is still amazing without lyrics. Some of the best music are those heard in movies or movie trailers. Hans Zimmer, Danny Elfman, Howard Shore, James Newton Howard, John Williams and Klaus Badelt have composed some amazing music for movies. If you don't know any of those names, look them up because I'm sure you probably know the movies that they've composed for. Other groups are Immediate Music, X-Ray Dog and E.S. Posthumus who consistently have their music featured in movie trailers and even in parts of movies as well. However, IMO the greatest band ever to play music would have to be apocalyptica. They consist of four cello players whose music consists of anything from classical pieces to metal song without lyrics. They get other artists to sing for them occasionally, but the originality with the instrumentals is amazing.
