I LOVE that little song. When I was in Japan last summer I bought an otaku mix CD of it, with different mixes and anime cover/booklet. Everytime I play it me and my brothers start doing that hand-thingie ^_^

Oddly enough, the first time I saw it it was Lucky Star. Nothin' much exiting about that, I'm sure, cosmidering how outrageous some of the other versions are, but to me at least it was just so energetic and fun to watch and undeniably cute that I really loved it. 
Later on I came across all sorts of parodies, including Gundam 00, Death Note, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Code Geass, and even Fire Emblem (the latter of which featured the most adorable dancing Marth I've EVER seen)

Caramelldansen is awesome! I can't help doing the dance everytime I listen to it. My mother, who doesn't listen to japanese music, keeps staring at me like I'm crazy everytime I do the dance. I tell her it's the best song ever and she still doesn't believe me. Why, I have no clue. I still think she's crazy for not liking the song. It's too catchy to not like.

I have the song; it's been ridiculously popular for quite a while now... Although it's mind-numbingly addicting. For a while, I had it as a ring tone.

There's like a million videos of this song with that.. weird-ish dance, but it goes SO well with the song! I still haven't found a version of it that's bad, I guess it's impossible to make it look bad. A while back I even had almost my entire class do this in a middle of a lesson while my teacher was away and boy did she get surprised when she got back! Defenetly worth doing if you want a laugh quickly.
