He's just keeping it fresh, why do something you've already done well again and again. Robocop, Paranoid, and Street Lights are music genius!

Well, I hate rap, I hate hip hop, but i like Kanye West. I have the Graduation album and I like most of the songs. Maybe you are right, Kanye's popularity will go down among people who like rap and/or hip hop, his music will become more popular among people who like other genres instead. Kanye West is not very popular in my country, I haven't listened to the new album yet, I hope it's worth listening.

His lyrics is talking about love heartbreaks..all that stuff that we can relate to and it always has good beats...and videeos...

To me, Kanye's work with the vocoder (that voice changing thing you fellers are referring to) is shaky at best. I can respect the direction he's trying to take things, but I don't particularly like it (compared to his rapping at least).

Nobody said that by sticking to rapping, Kanye has to follow the same formula, with the same lyrics, with the same sound, and same sampled instrumentals. He can stick to rapping and easily re-invent his production, his subject matter, etc. He could have just as easily thrown the vocoder and the rapping together to give fans a pleasant mix of both.

Anyways, Kanye's distinguishing feature for me has always been his "goofball" lyricism and the distinct cadence of his flow. His vocoder songs lack that "goofball" appeal and off-cadence flow that intrigued me.

@N3oFarpoint: you're missing out on a lot of great music. only narrow-minded ignorant people limit rap to things like women, drugs, and violence and refuse to give the genre any credit in terms of instrumental production. there are plenty of rappers/ rap musicians out there that are much more talented than Kanye on several levels. Lupe Fiasco is one, Sage Francis is another, solillaquists of sound are yet another.

I still have to say that what he is trying to do si working and it is working very well.
The new lyrics and beats are great. He has (in the past) sang about girls money stuff like that and it was STILL a hit.
Kanye West is one of those artists that can make anything a hit..

I have never really liked Kanye really much.. although i like "heartless" I listened to his 808 -album and didnt like it that much.. exept for one song ... -heartless

I actually like the first song Welcome to Heartbreak the best. Altho Heartless and LoveLockdown are great too. I'm likin the new sound.

I don't like the new album. Love Lockdown has a good chorus, but other then that I don't like the overall style of it. I think it's a big step back from his other albums.

Personally, i prefer it if he doesn't sing.... ever... don't get me wrong, i thought his first two albums were great. graduation was alright, but this whole singing thing with love lockdown and heartless, i think he's just trying to stay in the same flow as main stream. (just my opinion though, don't bite my head off :P)
