Ok I think the title is a little too obvious, but here's the deal:
Does any one like U2?
LOL! yeah simple as that^^ Please comment what you like and dislike about this band, what is their greatest album? Any personal favorite songs? Which band do you think are in the same popularity level as U2?
In any case something related about the band:)
O yeah, something related with the band and anime... they created one of the songs for the Ghost In The Shell Movie OST. The catch is that they performed it under the name of Passengers ;)

U2 is a band I would only listen to if I was put in a mental home, had alzheimers and thought I was Prince Albert during the day and Joseph Stalin at night. They don't have many innovative or mind-breaking songs, their lyrics tend to be minimal and repeat endlessly with no form of chorus or verse and their songs now tend to sound similar in tempo and beat. U2 never had a prime, because when you're always bad you never climb the mountain to peak your performance. Simply put, there may be worse bands out there, but there are certainly a lot of better bands worth listening to.
Their are great band. The new album "No Line on the Horizon" is due on 27 February 2009.
I don't care for U2 manly because Bono is nothing short of the biggest pompous asshole this side of the world. They're music is mediocre, and their lyrics are bland. I don't rush to turn them off when they are on, but I usually don't even notice the song till it's halfway through while I'm driving because it's nothing that grabs my attention.
Bono has swayed his musical "style" all over the place, the a prostitute jumping from one guy to the next to make a quick buck.
I just don't respect him as a musician, especially after he forced apple to break the silhouette ipod adds to make sure everyone could see his face.

I completely agree. U2 is my favorite band, and have been for a long while now. There's a reason they're one of the most prominent and enduring bands of the past thirty years. The music they produce is always full of soul and at the same time very listener friendly...that's a combination plenty of bands seem to lack in today's music industry. My favorite album by them is "War" and my favorite song is "Bullet the Blue Sky". I'm looking forward to their upcoming album and from what I've heard so far, I won't be disappointed.
Ok some responses have been written, and I respect all your opinions but there is no need to be SO agressive o.oU.

In the words of George Steinbrenner:
"If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen."
I don't PARTICULARLY like them, but I like a few songs - can't think of the titles right now.

I don't really like them a lot but i really into when they are making soundtrack especially ost from batman forever and mission impossible...
They were one of my most favorite bands until after Pop, I absolutely loved the Passengers stuff (Your Blue Room and Slug are awesome, I even have the Miss Sarajevo single). My favorite albums are pretty much all of them but maybe Boy, The Unforgettable Fire and Zooropa more so than the others. I couldn't be bothered to listen to the albums after Pop because it seems like they are recycling their older sounds rather than progressing and it's infuriatingly disapponting, but I digress. Overall they're good but now they just seem to be the second coming of the rolling stones, by riding by on their former glory without doing anything (musically) of any real worth in their later years. I do however give them kudos for sticking together this long for a greatly popular band without a line up change, being as rare as that is in the music industry.

I found this review pretty amusing.
But for my stance, I'm sort of indifferent towards them. I like a few of their songs but usually it's only a couple an album, which isn't enough to make me a fan or get me to buy one.
