Naruto. Waste Of Time or Entertaining Comedy?
Okay so I watch the show "Naruto" quite often. My mom says it is stupid because of all the drama on there. I have to say I do agree somewhat. Like...there was an episode, the one with the Third Hokage had just died. The whole episode was basically bawling and flash-backs. That one seemed to be a complete waste of time. Yes it was part of the stroy but should they have cut some of the mourning time out and move along in the story line? Recently in the new episodes they have stretched out the whole Sanin Showdown stuff over about 4 or 5 episodes. Isn't that a little long? Most of it was just stills and effects and narration. I for one, don't like a slow-down in the story. So what do you guys think?
Well, i sort of agree, the fillers in Naruto tend to get annoying and there are a lot of fillers in Naruto, but the anime overall is great, i like the plot, the comedy, the characters, the action, etc.

I, for one, prefer some Drama mixed in. It gets the viewer to understand the characters at their core. Though I would drop more of the slap stick comedy that comes up in the anime.
I guess there are times I do like the drama, but would also like a faster pace other times...so I kind of agree with everyone.. The Naruto fillers are such a waste of time, but thank god for Shippuuden. The show is enjoyable and not entirely stupid and that's enough to satisfy me I suppose.

Shippuden is really slow. All the filler just detracts from the action sequences in the anime. I didn't like the original Naruto series either. IMO the manga is so much better than the anime that the anime isn't really worth watching (except for a few episodes). I'm hoping that Shippuden's pace picks up soon, because right now it's a horrible series.
You should watch all the eps on yotube or download them if your not patient cause it'll be like 2 years till cartoon network catches up to where they're now.
Pretty much after they find tsunade in Naruto every episodes are just useless mission except for the Naruto vs. Sasuke battle and the other battle's with oroachimaru's cursed seal ninjas. Then once they get up to shippuuden it's SUPER suspense, but the battles are cool but one battle takes like 3-10 episode to show cause now everybody is way stronger than 2 years ago

I love Naruto its funny and kinda cool its one of my favs.

Naruto has a lot of fillers and it's annoying the hell out of me. The fillers play no importance at all. Why can't this series go straight to the plot or story? Since this series is so so long, fillers are completely unnecessary.

Waste of time! Doesnt mean i dont watch it though. It's good to watch when i have nothing to do. As a few people have already mentioned Shippuden is just to slow for it to be any good. We're 24 eps into the anime and nothing much has happened. Most animes have already told a whole story by then
I agree with the fact that naruto can get really slow. Also, the fillers do get on my nerves as well as the long flashbacks in the middle of fights. But despite that I do like naruto, with all of its drama, lol. Shippuden is realllly slow. Like gimliisadwarf said, most anime has already started and finished in 24 episodes, Shippuden has barely begun.

Shippuden is just so sluggish compared with how it used to be. Back in the Chuunin Exam arc things actually *happened*. Now it just seems like the gang always on their way to do something but never getting there. I remember really being excited about Naruto when Lee whacked Gaara in the face for the first time, but now it just seems so dead.
When i started watching naruto there were like 200 epsiodes out already so i had to catch up and watched about 10 a day...i love the series...i love the drama...i love the action...but now that i catched up and can watch only one episode per week its the first time i notice how many filler episodes there are even in the new series...thats really ruining the mood. generally i like naruto more than other fighting series like dragonball and so on...

I enjoy Naruto...but it gets SoooO SLOW.

Naruto is ok... but the fillers are so annoying and the story progresses so slowly. For example it takes about 10 episodes to cover 1 battle while its done in about the same amount of manga chapters. That pace is just sooo slow and becomes really irritating. I just read the manga and have pretty much given up on the anime though so yeh...
Naruto is my favorite anime! : ) I agree that it got boring in the middle with the fillers...but when Shippunden came out, it ROCKED! I love it! Ofcorse the manga version is much faster and better..but I don't think Naruto is a waste of time!
