They'd better not... i hope. Conventional shonen manga states the the hero will save his comrades, his village... blah...blah...blah. So i hope that seems to be the case again. Personally i dont believe the real Pain is there, theyre being controlled by Chakra receivers and stuff, so im hoping for Naruto to pop up, save the village, encounter Pain later for the final battle.

Pain is a BADASS and I hope he beats kakashi pretty bad cause kakashi hasn't to many hard battles in the whole series I don't want him to die but it be nice to see him struggle. The battle with zabuza wasn't that hard and itachi beat him by looking at him so that was no fun

Yeah I totally forgot about that fight he he struggled a little but then naruto came with his new jutsu and beat him I hope its a long and good fight between kakashi and Pain

Yeh, backup perhaps? If so, who? But of course Naruto will be the one to save him. At the moment Kakashi is Pain's primary target.
Im not sure but Im pretty confindent (say what?heehee) I dont think Kakashi's gonna die because there's no drama before he engaged that match. As long as I have watched and read Naruto there's always a sign before a major character will die XD
But I do hope that fight will be great, coz you see some of the characters are not being emphasized lately. It will be great if Sir Gai would come =P

Kakashi will die.
It's logic if you consider the manga's pattern with the new generation taking the place of the old one.
Kakashi himself told about that but i don't think Pain will kill him. Maybe Sasuke will and will took his "sharingan eye" to avoid his own future blindness.

1. Blindness stops when the eyes of a sibling are replaced with your own, its not anybody's set of sharingan.
2. Kakashi only has one sharingan.
