The people around you
I'm still a senior high student but I get the idea that the majority of people around me are a bunch of useless personalities.I have got many schoolmates that don't practically have any reason to come to school but they go on.Most of them are very rude, snob(most of them have high incomes) and with no intention for this to sound cocky I am way smarter than them. For instance:last week we received our grades and my total grades (when we sum the grades and then divide them (don't remember the exact word) were of approximately 92%(I hope you know what I mean) while those people had 75% and so they were like "Good Students" and I was the "Geek".That situation had as a result them taking presents or money(I heard one kid got 2000 Euro) from their parents and I got a "Good work but I expect better" from my father.Maybe it's wrong to complain but I don't feel that this is right.
And so after this I would like to state my question:
Why do rich people always have it their way in life while we the medium-income people take all the hardships? Do you agree?and if you don't tell me why I'm wrong.

Don't know, really, since comparing would require me to know both sides of the spectrum. Pretty smart, I guess, since most of the people I know are university professors, laboratory assistants, graduates, and other highly educated people.
Hm. If I were to refer only to high-school students with high income, then there's really not much that can be done about it, since this income comes from their parents. Most of these rich high-school students are a severe pain in the behind, but I've learned to ignore them and move on. *You* can't move forward in life if all you do is moan and groan about how hard life is for you and how easy it is for others. These high-school guys who have nearly any material belonging they want rapidly become bored and therefore lack the enthusiasm and the dedication that middle-class people have. I think that people with less income, who can benefit from the products of their own work rather than take everything for granted, are happier in the end. Even though some might not realize it.
Generally speaking, I feel that some of the people with ridiculously high incomes do not deserve them by far. Take Hollywood actors, football players or models, for instance. It's ridiculous that they receive so much money, when they don't actually do much work for it. But then again, this is how nowadays human society works (and I'm talking about global society here). People need idols, idols are expensive. It sucks, but it'll go on like this for a while. Nothing lasts forever tho'... maybe when I'll be a grandmother things will change :)

Some people like to think so, but they are just as clueless as some rich people are when they say that it isn't hard to get a job and make good money.
For actors and models, the demands of society are so high they barely have any privacy to themselves. Paparattzi, scandals, rumors, entertainment...their image is molded by the people who want to see them. It's great they get paid a lot and financially, it's easier for them to get by, but you can't help but pity them.
IF acting and modelling didn't take much work, everyone would probably be doing it. Acting takes skill...
As for athletics...professional athletes need to keep their body and mind fit at all times. Memorizing plays, stances, forms...endurance and strength training, watching what you eat. Physically, it's one of the most demanding professions one can have.
Remember, work isn't just pushing papers, reports or labs...it also involves physical activity. For athletes, their profession relies on their physical capabilities. It's basically all work, yet for them, it's all work and play at the same time.
The entertainment business pays a lot because people like to be entertained when they're coming home from a hard days work.
In response to this thread:
I agree on how a lot of the "rich kids" are too spoiled for their own good. I've known people in highschool who basically get everything from their parents and do horrible in school...a few pushing near 1.0 GPAs...they don't appreciate money and how hard you have to work to get a decent living. I had a friend whose parents bought him a brand new Mustang and within 2 weeks he crashed it...another who got a brand new Volvo that didn't last a month and another whose passed through 4-5 cars within 2 years of getting his license.
In part it's the parents fault for lavishing their children without teaching them responsibility, value, appreciation and some modesty. Yes, the family does deserve it because the parents worked hard to provide them with a good living, yet the children shouldn't be taught to rely on their parents to take care of everything for them.
It's hard for them to find motivation because everything is basically provided for them. Society puts alot of pressure on people to buy this and that, so they work hard in order to fulfill these goals. When those goals are already openly available to you, what more else is there?
That's only the case for the spoiled. I know a lot of people whose parents make good money and provide for them financially, yet they also do very well in school.
It really depends on the individual.
I got a "Good work but I expect better" from my father.
It may be unfair when compared to the rest, but it seems like your father just wants to push you to do better because he knows you can and down the line will be able to get a good living for yourself. It's good to get rewards like money and stuff every now and then, but in time those get old and worthless (except for cash though technically money is just paper and only has value because society gives it value)...and words of support go a lot further.
It seems your a little jealous, and it's alright to be so, yet if you end up getting what these other kids have, will you be able to maintain working hard and ultimately, not end up like them?
Yes I can understand your feeling, I work very hard to get a good note at exam and do my best and I saw that good welthy people give to their children good premiums as cars and very expensive toys and me. But when you work so hard in something and you do your best, the final satisfaction is most. And well I feel better thinking now that.
About the prize after getting only 75% of the report card result, it's a common thing if they're a rich family. Me, myself is just like you, a medium income family, and even my report cards always mark a score 90-98 in averege score, I am not given any prizes from my parents and only get some words like you "Good work, but I expect better"^^.
I can relate to what you experience guyz. studying hard till 3:00 in the morning and failing the test afterwards! it really sucks! you put much effort in studying but you still failed! a friend told me that even if someone studies very hard for an exam there is always a possibility that person will fail.
to tell you the truth, I really don't expect anyting in return whenever I get high grades in school or do anything nice to someone. doing good stuffs makes me happy and fulfilled.

Me too. i can relate what ive experience when i was in high school.
those rich guys were just a bunch of sorta mess. they just went ot school just to have their allowance. and another thing is they sometimes miss classes while they enjoying the money they've got. i pity them. they have all they need and for us who were just middle people havent that lots of money, we're just happy of what we have. its ashame to think that yeah they're cool, but does it makes since when you have those lots of money and nothing in mind(i hope you understand that, i cant find any words to be said, not really good in english).
me, got the 3rd highest grade when i graduated at high school is really a great appreciation on the things all ive done, hard works at school those really stupid fomulas which ive memorize for the examsssss... thats really a lot of work. but i only get form my parents,"you have done better than that.". arent they happy that ive got the grade? well, i try to understand my parents. i guess they expect better that what ive got. i should made at the top most if ive worked hard. but im really happy that ive got that grade. im really contented with that. lucky for me, even if my parents didnt have that lots of money still manage to be on the top. like other rich guys there, how would they make their parents proud?
ive known someone. yeah he's rich. however, he wouldnt graduated because he got a low grade. lucky for him, his parents paid the *teacher*. now he graduated! wtf!
if you just worked hard on everything, surely youll get everyhting you want.
PS im not good at english. hope you all understand what ive said. ahahahaha...

I know someone in my class. She's rich but totally lazy AND annoying! Even the boy who sat beside her wished to move >_<. I'm always wondering how could somebody like her even in A class(this class is for clever kids. Me? I'm just the 9th cleverest girl in the class...=)
Some rich people could be smart and some could be an idiot. It's just their parents don't wanna be ashamed if their kids are stupid, got what i meant?

Maybe oftenly we found the lazy rich boys or girls. ^^ The main factor of it is their habbits at home. ^^ Usually, the rich boys or girls live in happiness and all served by the servants, and that will make them lazy. ^^ But in my class(maybe I'm counted in the poor student in my class. ^^), all of the richies boys and girls are so clever^^. Yes they look like a lazy man in the class, but their rank in the class is high. (all of the best ten in my class is a richies except me. ^^)
I would like to say that most of you are right but in my opinion I think I will be pointing out 2 things I don't agree on:
1st:I don't think that feeling pity for these kids is correct.I have experienced and maybe some of you have too that these rich kids always have their way with stuff.Whatever they do at some point their dad will come around and save the situation. In life too with their parents good name they will make it somehow and most of the time better than the rest of us.
2nd:I agree with Odeena that some people get a lot more money than they actually deserve e.g. models, singers, actors and especially the athletes.Everything they do is within reach for most of the people on this planet. For example,if I never went to school and all I did all day was playing football and going to the gym would I not become a successful player getting million of euros(dollars if you like) just like that? These people get more money than doctors for crying out loud who actually do something. Is that right? And are the paparazzi enough to balance this injustice?

I agree with you and relate with you, I can even tell you that i know people that were like you who are from medium to low income house holds, and they worked hard enough believing when they grow up that they will get a good job and make some money so thier families could live happily, but at the end they spend their whole life working and working and the though of happiness was gone from their mind and if you see them in the face you can tell they are in bad health and sad, and soon they pass away...That's why I think differently, No man or woman is above nor am i above any, any if their our who think that they are better then me then i challenge them and if I still loose ama die trying, and when I stand next to that man on the judgment day and we both have our lives showed in front of our face...I can stand tall and be like I shed my blood and i used every inch of my energy to fight, where as the man next to me only had the "material thing" given to him. I crawled first, stood up and fell back down straight on my face, a little blood here and there but the next week i stood by myself on my own 2 feet, and no strawler or nothing to support me.
How do rich people get rich?
they work for it.
at one point in time the rich person was a poor person who worked his ass off in order to make a better life for himself. If he was successful he became rich but only did so through many hardships. Those punks don't really know the value of money yet, they may laugh now but once they hit the real world they'll stop laughing. And start regretting about the education that they lost

Yes, the rich people in the begenning is the poor people as same as those the poor one. ^^ But the difference is about their luck to get a job that produce many money, or they got the money from "the other way", or they are a hard-worker that success in getting a lot of money because of their hard-works. ^^ All can be happened, right? And of course you'll become the felony of the judgement because the rich "do a thing" to the judge. ^^ Money is everything in this modern era, right? ^^
NB: I think this is almost an off topic disscussion if we see the title, but never mind. ^^

Partyyyyyyyyyyy
