What anime has the best fashionable characters?
I like D.Gray-man's clothes because the exorists have to wear this coat thing and it looks really cool and their uniforms are mint too ^^ I want one of their coat things they are so nice! ><

Hmm.. I'd have to say xxxHolic. Yuuko wins the best dressed character award, definitely. Aren't all her kimono simply gorgeous? And the way her hair is done in so many different styles - really beautiful.

WEll I think a lot of the animes have great or interesting fashions.
That is if we are referring to the new animes. But one of the first that comes to mind is likely Bleach. But another good one would have been Blood+, animes that have regular civilian clothing on their main characters are usually pretty good. Ichigo on bleach is typically well dressed. I also remember the little bleach special ending with all the soul society guys and gals all dressed up in fancy duds.

Yeah, not so much in the actual show but, i love the outfits that mangaka Tite Kubo draws on his characters for his special layouts. every outfit is so colorful and creative. i am not sure how good it would look in real life but, i'd love to have some of Ichigo's clothes XD
Hm... interestingly, I think I'll go with Haruhi, especially when the characters are out of uniform. There's some really simple but appealing sort of business-casual clothing that they wear, and I remember particularly liking Kyon and Haruhi's respective fashion senses. In that same vein, the Kanon remake also has Yuuichi wearing some pretty cool stuff.

I like Air gear's style of fashion... Modern and have many variations. And i gotta say i like the wide collar style used a lot in Naruto (sasuke's t-shirts? akatsuki's Robes?)
But personally i dress really simply, because i'm not into fashion... I like stylish looking clothes, but wearing them doesn't look that comfortable...

I would have to say Cowboy Bebop. The character's clothes are really simple and obviously chosen for comfort. But they are at the same time stylish as well. And the clothes fit their character's personality as well. The clothes they wear (even if it is mostly the same every episode) really looks like something the characters would opt to wear.
The characters from Nana_TV have got many different stlyes of clothes. I only like it. It's a Japan punk style and japenes modelstyle.

I like outfits gothic-like in Tsubasa Chronicles, also in some Final Fantasies game (if you can count that as anime) as well as all the other 'folk' shows like Vision of Escaflowne, Aria, Mai-Hime, Nausicaa, etc.
But for you, if you like clothes from modern times, like you said, a lot comes from Bleach, but there's also in Ouran High School Host Club. The club change their outfits every meeting with the girls, also outside of school they wear different clothes.

Best fashionable characters? That's gotta be saiyuki and Bleach. In Saiyuki the character are portrayed in many different outfits, not during the story but the openings and endings are just what I am talking about. And then there's bleach, I don't know how many different hair styles there are in that anime, and not to mention in the manga how many times Tite Kubo makes the characters in different poses and clothes, sometimes the weirdest clothes one can think of.
I think Air Gear, Nana and Bleach characters have good (modern)fashion sense. The characters' clothes are really unique in color and style.
Gintama characters don't wear the best clothes in all anime, but must say some of the characters have pretty unique clothing, like the Shinsengumi. In Reborn, I must say Gokudera has a good wardrobe, full of punk clothes.
