Canadian Bands

Being a Canadian, I have to support some of our home grown bands. Bands such as Billy Talent, Alexisonfire, the Neverending White Lights (and all of the great Canadian artists that are featured in each song on that album), K-OS... the list goes on.
Heck, even if I wasn't Canadian, I would still buy these artists' CDs.
But that's enough outta me.
What do you guys think about Canadian artists? Got any favourites?

Idk if you like em, but i think Simple Plan is good
Don't forget Rush, one of the best progressive rock bands ever if not the best, they were one of the originals in that genre of music and they're still playing. Their drummer used to be called "the professor" for a reason, I guarantee in his prime he could take to school almost any drummer out there today, listen to their work, you'll understand what I mean.
Meh... Canada has Leonard Cohen and Godspeed You! Black Emperor... and, uh... Rush is terribly, terribly overrated. One of the best prog-bands? You must be kidding! And Neil Pert is/was one of the worst lyricists in rock, prog or otherwise.
I love Billy Talent, I just came back from Square one with their new CD.^.^ But I really don't like anyone else. It's strange the way I work.
There's nothing wrong with Canadian bands. I enjoy Our Lady Peace and Nickelback I dont see why anyone would think of them differently.
Huh. I was going to list G!YBE. I like the Merzbow avatar, btw (even if it needs to be re-interpolated). Anyway, uhh... Devin Townsend/Strapping Young Lad, Dillinger Escape Plan, Kataklysm, Quo Vadis, Halifax Pier/ 1/5th of The Red Sparrowes... I'd list Boards of Canada, but I think they're Scottish? I dunno. I don't really keep track of where the bands I listen to are from. Though, a couple of comments in this thread remind me of the apology about Brian Adams in the South Park movie. :P

Dillinger Escape Plan
Nice! The first person to notice my Merzbow avatar... and the first to criticize it...
Also, DEP is a cool choice, but according to Wikipedia, they're from New Jersey... Although this is Wikipedia. And yes, Boards of Canada are Scottish...

Being Canadian, I have to confess to being slanted on this one. I remember when I heard Five For Fighting picked their band name from the penalty call in hockey. Now *that's* truly Canadian.
FOF had a truly great song in Superman (also originally a Canadian concept) which appeared in the ironically titled album "AmericaTown".

Here you go. Save the image though, because I only have 10MB of space and regularly delete things. :P
Anyway, yeah you're right, Dillinger is a US band. I know I'm thinking of some eclectic *core metal band from Canada in the same vein, but I can't put my finger on it right at the moment... *shrug*

The only Canadian band i listen to would be NICKELBACK. They rock! For som reason their songs appeals to me and it makes me listen to them for hours. Their recent songs (Far Away and Savin' Me) would be my favourite one at the moment. Hope they keep up the good work. Look foward to their next album.
I like Nickelback, Simple Plan, Skye Sweetnam and Avril Lavigne, they are really great. Besides, I have a canadian friend so sometimes I get to listen to some new music from there and I like it too...
I do like a slew of canadian bands. I think Our Lady Peace has few equals in versatility and quality. I really think Billy Talent is a misnomer though, talent is something that isn't there :) If he could SING then maybe... the tunes are kind of catchy at least.
Neverending white lights is the best cd EVER! (listening to it now), alexisonfire is really good, i liked thier second album alot, not so much the first one, silverstine is awsome too, and our lady peace is great, alot of my favourite songs are from canadians woohoo go canada!
