I'm from New York, born and raised. not in manhattan, but not too far from it. i used to go every week but not anymore >.>
as beautiful as NY is, and as much as i love it, it's INSANLY high priced to live here with houses not that big selling for over a million dollars and houses in the next county selling for over 5 million (no joke)and no, i'm not rich. far from it.
Would i live in manhattan? yeah, for like A WEEK. ever walk through manhattan? you could cut the stress with a knife. i get stressed out just shopping there xD
fun fact about new yorkers...must of us havn't climbed to the top of the empire state building unless it's for a job, and most of us havn't seen the statue of liberty from more than a plane or car.
i'm leaving in the fall to go to school in the south in savannah, GA which i LOVE but won't live in for the rest of my life. maybe atlanta GA or another country :3
i'd never live in florida or New Jersey cause people there can't drive XD

They really don't. But, watch what you say, I swore I'd never live in Florida, and... look at where I am now. >_< Darn job and it's appeal.
I was born and raised in New York - not the city, a little cow town about 2 hours north. Just the furthest extent to which all the people that lived in the city had their second house. So we got alot of weekenders. The closest mall was about 45 minutes away, so there wasn't much to do. Got my degree in Syracuse, and then moved to Florida for a job and start my master's.
Once I get my master's I'm going to try my best to move away from Florida. It's scary here @_@, I never knew how much I loved NY until I moved away. But, not sure if I want to move back there. Guess I'll go where my next job takes me (which hopefully is an awesome place and permanent) XD.
I'm liveing in the suburbs of Paris in France. It's quiet little town with a lot of asian people :p
I would like to visit Japan and if I like it (I know I will) I'd like to stay there forever :)

I live in Tennessee and would like to travel to a more urbanized place someday. There just isn't much to do here
make sure that "urbanized place" inst memphis (it drives me nuts :headbash:)
Woo, I'm from New York, and currently in the same town that Kalico lives in xD But soon we'll both be leaving, her to Savanah, me to move out of my parent's house further up North.
I've always lived in New York in one place or another...I was born in Queens, one of the five buroughs of NYC, then I moved to Long Island and lived there untill about four years ago when I moved up here, about an hour and a half away from the city [we New Yorkers always refer to Manhattan as "the city" heh, 'cause to us there is no other city xD]
I LOVE Manhattan so much...when I was younger I used to go there a lot more and now I go whenever I have the chance...It's my favorite place in the world *huggs Manhattan* The only sad thing about moving out is I'm going to be further then ever from the city, but still in good 'ol New York

Has anyone noticed that this thread's name makes very little sense yet we all seem to know what it means 'where do you from?'
seriously, "what that?"

I from Australia, and like where I'm living. I don't know if I would like to live forever, though if one did would be interesting to see how things evolved.
Yeah, the weird thread title kind of irked me, but everyone else seemed not to care so *shrug*
I live in Wichita, Kansas in the US. Compared to the big cities like LA and NYC, it's a boring ol' city. No, it's not a farm city. Wichita mainly specializes in airplanes, there are aircraft companies such as Boeing and Cessna here.
We do have theme parks here but it really sucks, yet people like me still go anyway! People mostly go to the mall or to the movies during the weekends. That's about the FUN thing you can do here. I wouldn't say it's "high-living" here unless you live in a certain area. There are certain areas in Wichita where rich-ass people live, with the big houses. Never been there though.
I don't think I want to change anything about Wichita. First, because it is like a small city, there aren't that many gamers here. At least not a lot where a game is sold out on it's first day of release. We do have one event where people line up outside Best Buy to buy Halo 2. Anyway, one of the few places where you can buy the original Burnout 3 for $20 and the first shipment of Star Ocean 3 (the one in the box) for $20 as well. And second, there's NEVER rush hour in Wichita. It's practically nonexistent. Sure sometimes at 6-7 AM, a bunch of cars show up but there's never a scene where people honk horns and telling others to hurry up.
And hey, Kansas appears in US History a lot of times! xD

It's only missing one word, though - "come" - and what else was the thread likely to be about? And the first post explains the purpose of the thread pretty well.
Y'know looking up and considering the board has such an international flavour I'm always impressed by the quality of English generally displayed here - I certainly couldn't speak half of all your languages.

---Ah alright, and sorry you're suffering as well in this state (Nashville is pretty boring too unless you like country music). But if I really did move, I think I'd go to the west coast. Maybe not California because beaches aren't really my niche, but somewhere close to that mild western climate.---
