Welcome to the N.H.K.

I had a good laugh watching this. I guess, I was depressed during that time or something. But NHK made me laugh so hard, I forgot I was depressed. I love the game freaks in this anime as well. This anime sort of made me feel like a game freak, playing games 24/7. But yeah...whatever, I don't stay home all day though. At least I have a job and go to school.

Welcome to the NHK! dose have a high rewatch value for unknown reasons Lol. This anime reminded me of myself at points but at the same time showed me that im not as bad as i could be. I am saddened a little though because I'm a big fanboy of love animes.. i like to see the kissing and such. Nothing ever happened =( I mean he did chase his love but.. nothing =( But i do love this anime.. also had FFXI refrence in it!

I agree. NHK is being released on dub next month and I watched the first episode provided as a promotional by ADVfilms. By the time it ended I wanted to see what happened next despite the entire episode being completely off the wall.
The first 15 minutes were...strange to say the least. In fact, the first 5 or so minutes was completely mindless and insane. Conspiracy...conspiracy... and weird alien like creatures here and there, then what seemed to be like the psychotic breakdown of the main character. He reminds me of Shinji from Evangelion but a diet caffiene-free zero calories version. For the most part he's not so depressing and weak that you want to kill him off right then and there but fits the role of a "slap-stick loser".
Then you have the quite delicious Misaki...and yes I use the word delicious to describe her cause that's basically what she is. If she were a food, Misaki would possibly be a chocolate-covered habanero...sweet on the outside yet quite hazardous on the inside if unprepared for some major heat.
The animation is crisp and clean, reminiscent of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
The opening theme is catchy and the visuals are very nice. I didn't like the Ending OP though...mainly because those dreamed up weird alien things and the hard "basher" music.
It's a very mature series filled with humor and is also a rather nice slice of weird life type anime.
It'll take some thought but I'm sure Welcome to the NHK will be on my To-Buy list for Christmas.

I started with the manga, but being poor, wasn't able to continue. Then I found it for download, and got all the episodes. It was an instant favourite that I've watched over and over again :]

I'll probably get the vol. 1 dvd for this series when it comes out next month just because I've enjoyed the series and want to show my support. I don't really like their choice for the first cover though. =/

One question to all that have finished watching te anime
Is it really worth it? I just hate watching and getting sucked up by an anime and having a bad ending like Tenjou Tenge, Ikkitousen, Black Lagoon, Basilisk
(that one was so-so) I want endings like Fate/Stay Night (btw THE BEST ANIME)
I like fun animes with a story thats why I got intrigued about this one
So what can you say PLEASE NO SPOILERS!
thanks and Long Live Anime

It's up to you and what you personally feel is a "bad ending." Although there's some comedy in N.H.K., it's a serious anime with drama at its core. If you're not into that sort of thing, then it's not for you. If anything, the manga is much better than the anime as a lot of subjects the manga dealt with is left out in the anime (i.e. drug use, sex, etc.).
