Looks like another thread that died down needs resurrection? I figured I'd check out your other threads... sorry rey, but I'm with Nayuki on this one too . I have a thing for people who've always had a crush on the main character that end up with them; although Mai is my secret crush . I've seen the 2002 and 2006 version and in my opinion they're completely different with the same ends that tie together. The 2006 version is by far better a vast majority of people would agree with, but only because it's more clear with better details. It clears up Mai's power, the miracle, and especially Yuuichi's past.

Although one part still puzzles me... and assuming whoever reads this saw all of the 2006 episodes...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but... having Ayu in the past -> Coma -> Wakes up -> Happy ending for some, and Yuuichi realizing that his "illusions" is what he believed since he had a "weak heart" (like he believed he DID give Ayu the headband when in reality he found it by that cut down tree). When Ayu was still in her coma, I'm confused on the part where Yuuichi goes sees a movie with her, and had her over at Akiko's. I mean.. wasn't she supposed to be in a coma at this point in the anime? If your answer contains something like, "Oh, that as part of Yuuichi's illusions" then what was happening during this point especially since it involved like almost every character?? Sorry if this sounds confusing.

Good question and thanks for bringing this up. Ok firstly like Sawatari(fox to human)/ Mai(healing powers)/Shiori(cured from a suppose to be terminal disease)/Nayuki's mum(survived the "how did she survive" car crash), Ayu existing while she is in a coma is something like a "miracle/magic" which the anime kinda focus on. Ayu was suppose to be a ghost/spirit like how people say that those who are in a coma has their spirit wandering and will only wake up when it returns(something like that) and she only appeared with the arrival of Yuuichi just like Sawatari. Well a hint to this is the fact that she wears a backpack with wings as well as the opening of kanon(2006) where Ayu could be seen with wings on her back= angel/spirit but I only noticed this after I watched finish the series. Other hints that she was a spirit is the fact that she doesn't know about a lot of things and also the fact that the places she remembers either doesn't exist anymore or has changed. As for the headband hmmmmm I'm not too sure on that one but it might be as what you said. Btw all of this is my point of view and speculations but I hope it helped clear some of the confusions. I also like characters whom the main protagonist usually do not go for, example Kaede from shuffle!

Oh yes, that makes so much more sense ambstrike, thanks a lot for clearing that out. Like I know that Ayu would always talk about how she's dreaming (like in the intro to some of the episodes), and how she was told what was happening while she was in a coma (from Yuuichi), but I guess I couldn't come to that conclusion. On top of that there was Akiko who seemed kinda shocked at first when Ayu introduced herself so it only makes sense.

kanon was about miracles and believing I guess.which is good cause it has a positive message.
