Since I watch Anime, I picked words by words and try to speak Japanese.
I have lots of fun. Also, when I graduate from school, I want to go to Japan for a holiday.

I've been trying to learn Japanese at school but it's pretty hard and we don't really get to learn much, too bad I have to drop it next year to fit in all the other subjects I want to do T-T;;

I tried to learn it by myself... unfortunately it didn't work. No time to really study japanese because of college.
Hmmm...i've never tried learning japanese...only picked up a few words from watching animes. learning chinese is already hard enough for me! right now im flunking my chinese...definitely wont be able to cope with japanese as a third language...
Same here by picking some words in animes and browsing webs but maybe some time when i have time i'll go to japan and learn them...

Tried selfstudying few times, quit because of lack of time and motivation. But I might start it again when there's course selections at my school ^^
Still trying to self study, but has never really succeeded since my memory is poor. BUT there's always my aunt, who has taken up japanese in university last time.
Ganbatte! I think that you have to be careful with the kanji parts it's different from chinese if you know.

Haha, that's true when I try to pinpoint specific words i find that the japanese language is spoken at quite a pace, faster than i could analyse each and single word
I'm currently taking a course...and it's definitely more than a little challenging.
In fact, this weekend I've got to board myself up in my apartment for more than a few hours to prepare for an exam next week (after two quizzes last week). As for the progess we've made in the course, approx. a month in the class we've completed both the Hiragana and Katakana characters and have been working on reading in Japanese, the various sentence structures for different situations, particles, noun memorization, adjectives, etc.
We had a short game this morning, and I ended up with some Japanese candy out of the deal so that worked out well enough.
Good luck to you folks studying the language!

I've decided to learn it this year, I'm lucky I don't have much homework from school or I would never be able to do it.
日本語が一番易しですよ。
I'm taking it, and it's the easiest course I've taken in my entire life.
