Its not that bad. It actually looks nice.. Sorry if i'd sound harsh but thats just how i critsize other people's work. Im not trying to be mean. lol
what's the size of your wallpaper?? just wanna ask because i think you should make a bigger wallpaper..

The scan looks really nice. I love it. It looks really angelic and facial expression is perfect! It looks a bit blurry but i think it looks fineeee. The only thing that i don't really like about this wallpaper is the background that you did and the Fontstyle that you used. I think theres a variety of options that you can do with the background and the fontstyle.. There are just so many of them and i have an idea what you could do with the background. You don't have to do it. If you want your background to be abstract, go ahead, it your wallpaper, you can do watever you want with right? alrightyyyy

Start from scratch...
here are the wallpaper sizes that you can use......
- 1024*768 <--- too small
- 1152*864
- 1280*960
- 1280*1024 <--- i would pick this for the wallpaper size
- 1600*1200 <--- and this one too

i would put her in a light background. You should put grasses, flowers, clouds, and some birds.. It would be hard but as i told you earlier, you don't have to do these.. These are just my suggestions..
She would look nice in the middle and then just slant her to the left a little. Put flowers and grasses in front of her then some grasses behind her. That flower that she's holding is perfert.. copy that and make it a little bit bigger and just change the color to red and yellow.. then go to this site to find a cloud stock image http://www.sxc.hu/ .. theres a lot of good ones that you can pick.. make the sky light and kinda bright.. YOu can put a big moon in the background too if you want. then use a bird brush to put some white birds in the sky

As for the text...
i always say this to everyone.. use a text that is simple but elegant.. Times new roman is a common fontstyle but it could look good on a wallpaper if you just add some effects on it.. I like make the letters all capital.. Then i like put some glowing effect on the text..

I kind of like the current abstract background!

Just goes to show you that everyone has different tastes I guess. However, I do agree that it needs to be a standard size (I recommend 1600x1200 which is easily re-sized). The text could also be changed slightly, but overall a very neat wallpaper.

I really liked your wallpaper! It is very elegant and blue and purple are my favorite colors!XD But I have some suggestions... again, these are just suggestions:
I think that the abstract background is good! I like abstract stuff!^^ but it seems a little empty. I mean, it is just her in the middle of everything o__o... I would add wings (I think that would be nice *-*), feathers, a big flower or something to cover up so much space. I also suggest you to change the font of the text at her left.^^
