I scanned a fold out from my Yuu Shiina artbook and I am wondering if it meets the 800 width requirement. It is way more then a 1200 hight requirement, but I am confused about the 800 width one. Does it mean 800 for the total scan or for just one character in the scan? If so do they go by the body of the character or the clothes? I have read the FAQ but it was of no help to me in this. I am not interested in losing papers so I thought I would ask you all.

I am so sorry but i am not so expert in this. And too, I cant see the scan at all.
I advise you to try my suicide way, try submitting it and check whether they allow it.
I know this is a very stupid way, but just try it anyway.

Hmm, I checked to see if the link was still working and it is, but I will post it again, thanks for your help. Does anybody else know by any chance?

I think you have nothing to worry about... submit away
It meets the size requirements basically and the "workable image" requirements are there to ensure there is not a lot of white unusable space in the scan. The characters in this are the focal point and are enough of the scan to make it acceptable.
As a general rule, look at it from how a person would use the scan. If I was extracting that image I would us the clothing etc, which means that the usable image is more than the minimum required!

Yeah but if you want my advice you should just edit the picture with photoshop and change a bit the contrast and the gamma of it to get more vivid colors... But it's just a detail...
I know that my scanner, like your as I can see, always makes the picture a bit lighter than the real version... So I just ask my software to balance the colors and it removes that effect... Can be of use when you're losing some of the brilliance of a scan! ;)
Good luck with your scan and be patient about getting it accepted...
But note that a 1Mo scan can be refused cause it's too large or too heavy... But you wouldn't be fined for it ;)

Thanks zazou8888, but that is the way the scan looks in real life, it has that light color to it, the top is where the shadow from the other page got in.
