Difficult Levels
I started playing God of War (the first one) and close to the end when Krotos is trying to get out of Hades, he has to climb up these cylinder type things that moves in a circular motion with spikes on them, and if Krotos touches them he will fall all the way back to the ground. I hate that part. It is the worst thing in the game. I spent at least an hour just trying to get up there. I swear I didn't touch some of those spikes.
Anyway I want to hear what kind of levels in a video game that has made you want to curse until your blood pressure has reached its limit.

Typical i struggle with games/levels that are mostly jumping "puzzles". one of the things i love about ninja gaiden (xbox) is that there is only two "bottumless pit" (jump from the very top of chamber where you fight bone dragon and towads the end of the air ship)

Oh boy, I've encountered ALOT of difficult levels before.
Acts 3-6 in the original Ninja Gaiden
Act 3 in NG i
Stage 4 in Ghouls and Ghosts
The third level in the NES version of "Dragon Spirit"
The 4th level in Rolling Thunder 2
Almost every single level in the arcade version of "Willow"
Split Mushroom's stage in Megaman X4
There's this one level in Golgo 13 that I can't remember which one, but it was a pain in the neck. In fact, there's alot of stages in that game that are a pain in the neck.
Area 11 in Bionic Commando

The difficulty level that would make me scream would probably be the most difficult, because I'd have NO CHANCE.

Hey, don't say that is the worst part of the game because you cant succeed in that part...For others that is easy maybe for you is not that easy...
All the games must have a hard-level..If don't then they might just be a fun-multilayer game or just a game so easy that you should buy...XD So it is good for GOW to have difficult leves...That is the most exciting thing of games...The difficult part which give you a bigger reason to keep playing until you accomplish it. So don't give up and keep trying.
You will surely get the level done. ^^
Well for me the most difficult level would be...Some Fire emblem stages in which my characters are killed? That game is just difficult if you try not to get someone killed in the whole game since if they die they surely die..
Also I would say getting Kisame for Naruto Gekitou Ninja Taisen 4...(It toke me somehow 2 straight days to get him...
And some other levels that I dont remember...
The Hades level in GoW was definitely frustrating and pissed me off at times. As far as past games, there are definitely stages that were difficult and frustrating to no end, but I have a hard time recalling the specifics after being away from them for so long (out of sight out of mind).
Levels, probably the ones in the open fields and you're fighting enemies. I play mostly fps and as time goes by the AI keeps getting smarter and smarter. When playing on the highest difficulty, its always better to have some kind of edge on them. Take the game staulker which i'm playing at the moment, the minute I make a sound in the tall grass its like
OMG the enemies know i'm here...RUN AWAY!!!

Consideing that all of you guys have already mentioned some of the most frustrating levels I've played in some old school games, I'm gonna talk about some of my very personal frustrations:
-Mad Space, in Sonic Adventure 2. The entire level is one of its own kind. It's one of those levels where you must check the entire stage to find the lost pieces of the Master Emerald (I personally liked those levels a lot, EXCEPT this one), using Rouge the Bat, and you need to travel between some kind of mini-planets or moons in order to find them. The problem is, the level is TOO big, getting lost is excessively easy (even the camera gets confused sometimes), the stage itself is annoying (you get attacked not only by Eggman's droids, but also by meteors that pass nearby... plus, dealing with the moons' gravity is strange). When I was able to get all the Mad Space stages with A, I sweared I'd never play it again.
-The ancient ship from Otogi Myth of Demons. You are riding a ship, crossing through a river, trying to keep some slime-like enemies away from it so they don't sink it. In fact, passing this level is TOO easy, but the main problem here is to obtain the 100% of the level, which you achieve by destroying some elements from the stage itself (signs, crystals, other ships, etc) and in order to do that, you need to get off the boat, and while you're out of it, your mana levels get drained, and when it's totally empty, you can through the river and you instantly lose.

I have been frustrated many times with games, probably the most recent wouldn't have to be the final battle in KH2 lol! But what usually gets me is any game where I have to aim and shoot at something. I love survival horrors, but I like to use tactic over just blasting everything, so when it comes to having to blast everything - I suck. Hence why I have trouble in F.E.A.R, it is also why I always play with someone who is good a shooting games. They can do all the blasting, and I'll solve the puzzles or get past the "creepy" parts. It works will with me XD

Ninja Gaiden 1 for NES...now that was difficult. I HATED the later levels, they were so incredibly hard. And the fact that enemies started appearing and re-appearing out of nowhere didn't help.
I really hate difficuly in games i play them to enjoy the graphics sound and story, which is probably why i stick to RPGs, i usually play games on easy or normal, i just don't have much patience for difficult things, i get enough stress in real life i dont need it in games too, I often have that trouble with fighting games and such. arg just thinking about some fights pisses me off (Last fight with Keith in Nanobreaker) I mean even if i gues past them (which i did) it makes me not want to play again.
