I first listened to her songs during 2003 through friend's recommendation. Man, her songs really bring me a sense of inspiration in life. Especially in sports, like school sports day event. lol I listened to her songs see the awaken side of me. lame but true... enjoy her songs at www.youtube.com --> evolution, naturally, rainbow...etc

Her songs are actually quite good and I like the melodies.. but I really hate her voice. She really just can't sing. I like being able to put a song on repeat for hours.. and I can't do that with her music no matter how good the instrumentals
Yeah, I totally agree with you. I personally prefer the Ayu-ro and Ayu Trance albums over any of the original songs, but even so, I still prefer listening to other artists and bands.
The only song I remember of Ayumi Hamasaki is "Evolution", it's a song used for various EVO-Fighting-game Trailers. The EVO, is one of USA's most famous Fighting Game tournaments. In one of the DVD-trailers I heard that song for the very first time and fell in love with it ever since
In my opinion Ayumi has a great voice, But compared to other J Pop Singers she seems to have more fame outside of japan, I Downloaded all her albums ( about 6 GB ) and I even bought my favorites, I think the only problem she has is that se recycles her songs in to new other Mixes, So you hear the same song again and again from album to album..., She is amazing but for me not really a Jpop Queen maybe just one of the Princess...
Basz, i just noticed that...after hearing her songs, her voice is high...so high that i can't listen to her that much. I enjoy "Trauma" and "Rainbow".
In my opinion Ayumi has an ok voice but not the best i've heard and some of her songs are annoying like Bold & Delicious but she does sings some good songs like Dearest, Seasons and Moments. i wouldn't say that she is the Jpop Queen but i know that she is very popular in Asia, UK and America.

Musically, she's no longer the queen. But she still dominates JPop culture, with her endless product endorsements and fashion accessories. You can see how her music has changed over the last few albums, from the dance-techno styled pop through a heavier feel in I Am... to a mix of rock-driven and straight upbeat pop in her newest albums. I for one have started to get bored of her. While she's still big on my playlist I'm listening to newer artists a lot more these days.

She might not be the queen anymore but she still have a place in the j-pop. there are a lot of great new artist that are currently dominating the j-pop world. they are great too, a lot of diffent genre they are introducing to the j-pop world...
I was into her music around the first album for about a year a while back. i don't like her anymore for other reasons

seriously, I think she have the right to gain the title queen of J-pop, because even though a lot of them are emo and stuff...as some people veiw them I found them interesting,.

I've also always wondered. Is she really popular in Japan?? Like, Brittany Spears popular (but in a non-slutty way). Well as for me, I first heard her songs from the anime Inuyasha, she has a couple of songs played on the endings. So one day, I was on this site, and I saw that someone had requested the song EVOLUTION, so I figured, if someone out there is requesting it, it should be good. So I uploaded the one from the request. Turns out I really really liked it!! So I decided to get more and more of her songs. And now I guess you can call me a fan? lol.
