[Anime Discussion] Romeo x Juliet

I have seen the first 3 episodes and I must say that I'm actually enjoying it so far. I mean, I almost didn't see it because I saw the intro on youtube and I have a policy of not watching anything that reminds me of beaches, but I saw the preview after that and was intrigue. So I download the first episode and was please with what I saw.
The animation is good, not the best I have seen, but its good. I love the music (And by music I'm not referring to the OP and END songs, I hate the OP and I like the END), I think that its the perfect music for the setting of the story and it helps set the mood for the story to develop. I'm happy that GONZO didn't chouse to do the typical anime love story and went for something different. There are some things with the story that I think that are stupid but over all I like how the story is developing. It reminds me of your typical fantasy adventure RPG story. I just hope that GONZO doesn't drop the ball on this one. But I'm a big fan of GONZO and I am sure that they will make another great series.

I think this is going to be very promising. The storyline still has the same plot for the most part but with interesting differences that make it enjoyable. I like the ending theme too. I'll watch episode next chance I get.

When I first saw this in the Newtype Japan magazine, I thought it was ridiculous. Then I decided I wanted to watch it because I wanted to compare it to the play (even though they're pretty much different).
The anime is different from the play, although it's still awesome. I really like the OP theme, the singing is beautiful, it matches the anime well. I've also heard there's a manga going on too.

I like them all story... song op (ed i... feel like - -') character is so cute ^_^ very much and when romeo and juliet we meet it's make me feel same them ><' when they shamed... and story is interest to continue to watch ^_^

I'm not really a fan of Shakespeare's play, so at first I was very sceptical about this concept. After seeing a few people's review of the first episode and paying a visit to the official site, I've concluded that this is a series I will inevitably get into. I'm looking forward to checking out this anime soon. It looks promising indeed.

I really like this show and it'll be interesting to see the result even though we actually all knows how the ending will be unless... it's different haha~
I've been loving the show so far. The animation is great, though for some reason reminds me a little of Ghibli stuff 
(I keep thinking Romeo looks a little like Howl, and the pastel palette is quite different from the colours I've seen in other GONZO shows, so it does show they are putting a lot of effort into it).
I'm actually really suprised that a lot of people have denounced the anime as it doesn't follow the play, and have actually refused to watch it. I really don't know what they were expecting, and we have other great non-anime productions of the play out there (like the 1960s movies version), so I don't really see the need to just redo the play again. GONZO have really made the storyline their own, and it is cool to see Juliet as a fearsome warrior out for justice!

I have watched one episode and i like it o.o, but i didnt love it like Gankutsuou =P, i think Gonzo is making a different story (yeap, the story started different o.o), because the most of the people know that story and sometimes was so bored to see a similar or identical adaptation from any book =P.
So that, i'm gonna continue to wacth Romeo x Juliet =P, i hope Gonzo make a good job =P.

I'm a fan of this anime already. Even though at episode three, I've loved the little fantasy twist they gave the story line!

Well, nothing's said about the number of episodes yet...
The story is an interesting twist to the original play, since well, Juliet is a masked crusader this time, William himself is a character and etc., so I hope it's different from the original play...Wouldn't want anyone to die, and hope GONZO doesn't follow that part, but then it wouldn't seem that interesting anymore...
Opening song fits the theme, ending song's a bit weird for this romance idea, though the lyrics do sound nice anyway...
Anyway, it seems like episode 4 is already subbed, ya? It's really interesting this time round...and the ending to the episode is really a cliffhanger sheesh.

Now taht's one good animation, I like the opening. But I never thought that Shakespeare's work would be make into that anime and I must really say I'm really impressed with that after all it's made by Gonzo Studio
It's a very (and I mean VERY) liberal adaptation from Shakespeare's work, but it caught me instantly, I'm really expecting to see how the plot develops. Great animation and the ending simply rulzzzzzzzzz ^^
I don't think I would've watched it if it were a pure adaptation of the original work. Granted the plot (4 eps thus far) is a bit slow, but it's still rapturous and very interesting.
The art is stunning, and this anime may be the only one with impressive first OP and EDs I've seen. I really don't know why people criticize GONZO so much O_o they're doing a good job with Romeo x Juliet and I personally thought that Samurai 7 was awesome.

GONZO really did a good job on this one. The animation was really good and consistent. Definitely one of my favorites this season, I hope the quality is maintained all throughout.
