[Anime Discussion] Romeo x Juliet
I saw the first episode last week i think.And it seems to be a good anime.The animation is good,and you already know a bit what it's about.I like that they live in a city soaring among the clouds and they some kind of flying horses too.I think i'll continue watching this anime.

If Gonzo pay more attention in drawing like Bone, it will be great!!

I like this anime a lot since I like the story line of Romeo and Juliet. The animation of this is really good. I also like the OP and ED of this anime. I watched until episode 7 which is my favorite episode so far, it was so cute

Oh, I am just loving this series. And wow bishie fans.. who just doesn't LOVE Tybalt!! I think Juliet should dump Romeo for him!! LOL! Just kidding they are cute together.

Honestly, Tybalts cool and all, but I prefer Romeo since he's so kawaii and that kissing scene was so MOEEEE!
Honestly I have NEVER read or seen the original Shakespear play so I have no idea exactly how Romeo and Juliet goes, and when I saw Romeo and Juliet in anime I thought...hey this could be my chance to actually see it. But after reading these discussions I just realized that this is not a good reference to see what the play is actually about haha. But I still love this anime and will definitely keep watching it. However I still want to see the original...anybody know of a good movie that is pretty relevant??

Does anybody know if Gonzo is gonna have both of them die in the end just like the actual play or are they going to change it?? Personally I hope they don't...

Hmm...this series is VERY different from the original play, but that doesn't make it a bad series at all. Great rendition and addition to the story of Romeo and Juliet! Too sweet! 
Makes you hope that this series ends on the same note as the play...

Unfortunately, I have forgotten the names but I'll give you an idea of what type of movie it is. There are actually two movies that I've seen back in middle school, the first one's setting is based in actual medieval Verona while the second one I saw is Leonardo Decaprio in a modern version speaking Shakespeare straight from the book. Watch to first one because you will laugh at how ridiculous the second one is.
My opinion on the movies and the actual play......
Since Shakespeare only had about 2 hours or so for every play, he always had to rush his stories. Therefore, in the story of Romeo and Juliet, they fell in love in just one or two hours, which is pretty naive and unbelievable since you don't see most people falling in love that quickly. Shakespeare's poetry and lines in each play were well made and symbolized many things, but I still despise the original Romeo and Juliet because they were so naive.
Romeo only liked Juliet because she was prettier than Rosaline, if she were uglier, he wouldn't even bother to look. You can tell easily by reading the book or watching the movie since some the first things he says about her is how beautiful she is than Rosaline who he did love until he saw her.

Now I have some more information to share, having watched up to episode 12.
I am finding that there is a little too much mushy romance in the last few episodes. I feel that they have already established their love in previous episodes, and its now going a little overboard into boredom.
Good news is that they are now starting to get back into the action side of things. I hope that it gets more intense from here on out.

I like the series especially the opening and ending songs. I'm interested to see what will happen to both of them.

I agree...shakespear pretty much made love at first sight very sketchy...i mean they only looked at each other...and they're 16 years old! Which is pretty messed up...no 16 year old has ever fallen in love so hard that they kill themselves to be together lol...but whatever shakespear can dream...

I really like this anime adaption of Romeo and Juliet and is really excited to see episode 13 that just have come out subbed.
This is the best Romance anime I've watched. I like how William is a character in the story. This is very different then the original book. All the character are designed very well. The most eye candy recent anime.
