[Anime Discussion] Romeo x Juliet
I just watched all of the 14 episodes today so far, and at this point I can't wait for the next episode. This perspective on the classic Shakespeare tale is quite extravagant and much more entertaining. I like the artwork and animation, which run pretty smoothly together.
At first, when it was only announced, I half wanted to see it because the trailer convinced me that it might be interesting. However, it ended up taking me a while before I actually decided to watch it. I really love it. The changes are huge, but nice and after all, what would be the point of making an anime out of the original play if nothing was different besides it being animated? The first ending CYCLONE is awesome. Honestly, I really dont like the opening in english or japanese. I dont really know why. Anyways, I'm really looking forward to watching this till the end and I hope it turns out good. The only problem is waiting for the subbed episodes to come out XD
LA LI HO!

Romeo X Juliet is so beauty and lovely and... everything xD
I love the original story by Shakespeare and now I love the anime *-* The character design is soft and simple, but still beautifull ^-^ And the scenary of the anime... Woa! No words about it xD So gorgeous *-*
The japanese version of You Raise Me Up is really cool, but I still prefer the Josh Groban one *-*
I'm still watching, on ep. 13 ^-^ I want more! *-*

In my opinion, the first episode is awesome!!
And the quality of the drawing began to drop since ep4,
finally, the terrible scene turn out to be beyond the quality of being forbearing in ep16...
Unfortunatelly...

Very good adaptation so far. I like that fact that the show attempts to set itself apart from the shakespeare original. Otherwise it would be totally boring. I really like the flying pegasus idea, and floating city.
The graphics are just amazing and the music was so well choosen. It really draws you into the tragedy.

I watch a few ep... till ep 8 one exciting part, then i kinda gave up. I just couldn't get into the mood to continue. I think i just gotta start it again. But overall i like how RxJ is something different from the actual shakespear. I appreciate it and I think it's quite interesting.
Interesting to see (yet) another take on Romeo and Juliet. Lots of nice Shakespearian angst!

I saw eleven episodes, I thought it is a very good love story.
However, I always feel the fantasy world didn't have a very big function.
In addition to the pegasas, it can be changed to real ancient times.

This very awesome
I think this is another kind of Romeo&Juliet that Gonzo try to show the story is full of emotion. I hope it will have more action in the last scene

The changes are so amazingly different, but I love them. They make the plot so much more complicated and thrilling to watch. The animation is so clear and different from other types of anime, so I do like that. However, episode 16's animation was terrible compared to the rest of the story...I know some people haven't gotten that far in the series so I won't really spoil anything, but episode 17 is by far the most complicated episode I've seen yet. After watching that, I understand how Gonzo made Tybalt on Juliet's side and I am official freaked out and scared by the evil in Romeo's father.
The first time I saw this in the Japanese Newtype, I totally rejected this anime. Then later my class had to read this play and then I gave a second thought about RomeXJuli anime. When I read the plot of the anime, it was a bit different from the original play. It was described as more of an epic than a tragedy. When I watched this anime, I was really surprised, it was so different yet very exciting! I was amazed by Juliet's actions, she was really different from the play. I fell in love with the OP theme when I first heard it.

Riza, that is exactly how I became hooked. Being so different from the original play, it took on another light (and I do know what you mean about the attitudes of Romeo and Juliet concerning how open they are). Either way, Romeo x Juliet is still excellent.
BTW, I just saw episode 15, and I think it might be what everyone else refers to as a "filler" episode. It advanced the plot no further, so I think it is appropriately defined.

Well, I don't know if that's necessarily a filler, but I guess it could be. Wouldn't 14 also be then? They are both about the mining thing. Except in 15, it seems to be more about the random earthquakes and stuff.
