I love the hearts and scan but I think the reason is because its too plain. Try adding some other color into the wallpaper. And try and make your background a little more intersting. Not just hearts.

Good idea, but your scan looks squished to me. Are you trying to make it look like an old photograph? I'm not sure. I love the scan though and a great start, but i think shuubi-vume is right there isn't enough interest in the wall. The main focus is the characters, and because they are b&w against a colorful bold bg your eyes don't have anything to focus on. Try playing with the scan and see if their are any effects that will make them pop. Sorry to be so critical, it really is a nice start. Good luck!
I'd try some more calligraphic font. And also I'd try to scale the central image 25 % bigger

The scan is too small, vector it and make better the bg with some brushes or photos...good luck ;D

I'm not a pro and i can't tell you much but i noticed that :
The fist letter of Final is darker;
The heart in the middle has a line into it;
There's a red band which passes through the upper arms of the upper girl.
Hope it helps.

The scan is a bit squished...
It's a nice idea but yeah using photos would be a nice idea, also it's stil a bit plain...
Meaby you should change the scan into a photo to ans scatter some over the background.
Use some nice brushes in the background you can get nice ones on the net

Why don't you try to do like a tired up sheet where you can see this photo and add more elements of FF and do like something on the theme Final Fantasy Elements ...

Sorry, i didn't have time to read other people's comments. but anyways
the font first of all, is not blended too well, and the way it fades on the left is a bit weird.
thought i don't thinkit's the main reason
the image itself, 1. quality needs upgrading. 2. It's ... grayscale so it's gotta be more interesting than that for a collage wall.
So, i sugggest you get more scans to create a collage wall, or make this picture a little bigger, then have an actual frame, because i don't think that red border is gonna work
also, the redness is invading the picture.
I suggest, however, that you choose a better scan to work with.
