Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!

When it comes to living in an environment that you feel most "at home" or comfortable with, which out of the following three areas would you most prefer settling down in: the city, the suburbs or in the country?

I would prefer spending some time in a quietly locale such as in the country side where a town's population might be between 50-1000 people. I've also found myself enjoying the city because of the hustle and bustle-ness of thing,s and that you can't miss a restaurant or a shopping center when you're living between skyscrapers.

But then again, I dislike having to spend each day of my life in the extremes (lonely vs. crowded areas), which is why I prefer to have the best of both worlds of the suburbs.

I was thinking more like my house and my car since those are my two favorite places to be in, but I don't mind any of the three environments you mentioned since they all give off a different mood and those three moods I actually quite like. The city gives you the whole industrial feeling of society and you know, if you walk around a city, if it's doing well. It makes you proud of society how we can achieve such productivity. Plus you can find almost anything you necessarily need in the big city and buy, like accessories and stuff. Suburbs are quiet, peaceful not too crowded and are nice to just chill out in. Countryside is great because the wide open space and nature of it reminds you of what the environment, untouched by humans, are truly like and it's very "outdoors"ey.

I agree. Suburbs are nice. It's quiet and boring sometimes but it's usually a few mins drive away from the city too. I don't think the countryside would be that great. It's going to be tooo boring and lonely.

I've spent my whole life living in the country so I would like to live in the country. I wouldn't like living in a big city like New York or LA but I wouldn't mind if I had to live in a smaller city.

I think that it is convenient to live in the center of a city while I'm a student or the
member of society.
However, I want to spend old age in a quiet place like country.

I would probably prefer to live in a city, but that may largely be because I've lived in the suburbs for so long. Hmm. At least, for while I'm young, or going to school. I'd like access to a larger array of new things to sample. However, I know that I definitely want to be in a state that borders the ocean. I think I've gotten way too used to the mellow weather that often comes with the California coastline... and just the idea that you can drive down to the beach anytime is nice. :]

Though, perhaps I'd decide to raise my kids in the suburbs. Just somewhere more sheltered. I've got years and years to think that one over though.

I am a city person. Give me a city that resembles like the city streets of france, or maybe somewhere around the london high class district, I would very much enjoy it.
The fact is, if I am in the suburbs I would do nothing and rot, as a city person, that is very much a habit by nature.

I live in downtown and simply hate country. But suburbs sometimes are quite relaxing, but leads me to become hardly bored without nothing to do. After a barbecue with some suburbs friends, what else could we do?

I feed myself living among skyscrapers. I would simply rot in the country.

I prefer the city because I like seeing the life that happens outside my window. Some people complain about the noise and having to walk everywhere, but that's what's great about it! The hustle and bustle out there tells you that there's always something going on, and you're much more motivated to do stuff once you jump on your feet. Even at night, you know that there's something you can do or somewhere you can go to...if anything, you can just stare out the window and look at the lights!
The suburbs isn't that bad as well...it's nice to have a barbeque on the porch or just enjoy the scent of freshly mowed lawns during the summer .(n_n). emoticon
I can't imagine myself living in the country...I'd be isolated from everyone and bored out of my mind...

For me, I think... my ideal living environment would have to be near a city of some sort. No matter where I go or how much I may complain about city life, there's something more exciting about the hustle and bustle of a busy city. It adds that extra layer of life onto things for me anyway.

I'd like to live somewhere cut off from the city though as the hustle and bustle as I mentioned before is not something I like to hear from inside my own house. When I get home, I actually want it to feel peaceful and quiet. Plus I find I'm more at peace at a house surrounded by greenery and more of the simple things nature contains. As you can tell, I'm a nature lover.

Where I feel most at home would be in the suburbs, where the population isn't too large so that it isn't overcrowded, but is large enough to offer decent services and a good time every time I leave the house, I don't think I could ever really leave my home for good, or move away and re-settle somewhere else... It would feel too awkward...

I think deerstalker is right. I've got pretty much the same opinion that he has myself^^
I like plants and nature around me just a peaceful place without any neighbors would be the best^^ but a city shouldn't be too far away (max. 8km), so I could easily reach it with my bycicle :D
