Longest time without sleep...
What is the longest time that you have ever gone without sleep - and how were you able to pull it off?
For me, the longest I was able to go without sleep 34 hours (from 9 AM to 7 PM the next day).
During one semester of college, I neglected to work on a certain essay in a timely matter. That left me in so much of a pickle the day before the deadline that an all-nighter was the only option for me. And so, I was able to work throughout the night by using sheer will-power, and chants of "I gotta get this thing done or I'm screwed!" for motivation. Once I had completed my work the next day (without any sleep mind you), I did my best to supplement my body with caffeine via energy drinks in order to avoid a crash during school hours.
Having no shut-eye during that night had left me feeling so groggy and dazed that I was surprised that I had crashed much later in the evening of the next day. :)

I remember last year when I was at a contest. I woke up at 8:00 and took the exam from 9:00 to about 12:00, just to add to the sensation of weariness. After that, we were already physically and psychically worn out. Of course, what us stupid kids did was waste our remainder of the day, drink some beer and then play some stupid card game until morning, with no sleep at all. Needless to say, I didn't sleep until my next sleeping hour, which is around 1:00.
Maths: 8:00 -> 1:00 : 24 + 12 + 5 = 41 h...wonderful <-3 . Never actually calculated it before ^^ .

I went roughly a week. Of course, this was because I had an incredible pain in my mouth that prevented me from sleeping or really doing much of anything else other than being in searing pain. I tell you, it's the weirdest feeling I have ever felt. After awhile, things start seeming as if they were a dream, I was so delusional that I was even tempted to pull the tooth that was bothering me with a set of pliers. Thankfully, logic came to the rescue and saved me from insanity.
I remember getting some prescription strength pain killers and literally passing out for almost an entire day. Oh..that was an interesting experience. I'm not sure how my body kept functioning after such a long period of time, to be honest. Never want to experience it again, neither the pain nor the feeling of being up for that amount of time.

I've been up all night at least a few times before, but never more than one night and the following day.
My longest time without sleep would have to be like 20 hours not even a full day. I don't pull all nighters to study for tests. That just shows a lack of responsibility and time management. If you get a real career, you won't have time to do last minute things. This could really cost you your job. Anyways, I just can't seem to sleep in late into the afternoon even if I wanted to. If I slept at 4 AM I would always wake up at 8-9 AM. I wouldn't be able to sleep until 11 AM - 12PM. It's really wierd. The longest I've ever slept to was from 10 PM to 11 AM due to serious jetlag. That's all. I just funtion more better with sleep.
Yeah, I've never pulled an all-nighter out of necessity for school or anything. All the times I've done it is just when I'm with friends or whatever.

Wow a whole week that is kinda hard to believe for me. But my longest time from ever getting any sleep has to be like 1 whole day. I mean I don't know how people can stay up a week with out sleep. between that week period you had to nod off once. But hey I am only saying my opinion on the matter.

I got to 30 hours. Because I had 2 projects to do in less than a night so I didn'T have time to sleep. When I finished, it was already time to go to school.
I left school the afternoon because I had just regular classes with nothing too important and I went back to sleeping

Imagine a pain so intense, that you can't relax. You try to take your mind off of it by watching tv, playing video games or being on the computer. However, even doing things like that, the pain is so intense that you can't even focus. The only thing I found myself doing was going for walks and trying to sleep. No matter how tired you feel, no matter how weary you are, you just can't sleep because it's so strong. Keep in mind that this was about a week. Roughly from 4-5 days..

About 2 days.
I think I was outside camping in the wild. You know how the mosquitoes and bugs are. D:

Last February. I was finishing my thesis back then. The day of it's submission was two days. So i work like there is no tomorrow. I started 10:00 a.m. and was finish 11:00 a.m. the following day. Man i was so dazed. By the time i realized i was up by 25 hours. I didn't take any caffeine cause i don't like drinking coffee. I almost crush Eizen(My family's puppy) when i was on the way to my room. Thank God i had fast reflexes by the time i almost step on him. *phew.
The longest I have ever stayed up would have to be 2 days. During that time I was with a bunch of friends. Besides that I really don't stay more then a 24 hours, because I will eventual get bored and fall asleep lol. It kinda hard to find stuff to do at night, when you got nothing to do besides studying. Not to mention it kinda boring with no one to talk to at night, since everyone around is already asleep.
I think I'd go on for 2 days without sleep. But knowing me, I might have dozed off in between. Though not sleeping for a week long is a no-no! I love sleeping~~
