Keeping a Secret
You know sometimes in our lives we decided to go crazy and do some pretty questionable things that is completely out of the ordinary. Well I have. I am a photographer and I love experimenting with different art. Recently it has been semi to nude pictures. (I don't take pictures of anything sexual just artistic photos) Before doing this I would think that taking such explicit pictures is something I would never do. And now I'm doing it. On top of it my friends don't even know I do it. I'm embarrassed to tell them because they know it is something I would never do.
So I wanted to know if there are other people out there doing something like this and too shy/embarrassed (or another reason) to tell anyone. I wanna hear your stories!

I'm gonna reference the last few episode of the first season of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. In that anime, someone went on a killing spree because her friends were keeping secrets from her. In the end, everyone has something they don't want shared and being friends doesn't mean knowing every secret about each other. In my opinion, everyone has something to hide. If being friends with someone means spilling all of your secrets out to them then screw friends. I personally wouldn't hold a grudge against someone I know who keeps secrets of their own, like maybe they read yaoi/yuri manga in private and I don't know about it, I quite frankly couldn't care less.
First off, I don't see anything wrong with taking nude photos, not unless the snap shots were taken in secret LOL XD...
Kidding aside, I don't feel like sharing my secrets to my friends nor to to this thread...

As long as you don't harm anybody with whatever you are doing, then it's fine. I'm sure everybody has got a secret that they don't want to share. Not telling a secret is not a lie, to distort the truth is to lie, because you are not telling how things really are. You don't have to feel that you must tell everything you do to your friends, it's up to you to do anything you want, that is why it's called privacy ^^. If it weren't for that, then everybody would have to know about everything.

Well i would say it is the same as some Anime lover here im sure there are enought people who watch anime but in public and under friends they are totaly different people.
your question shouldnt be how can i tell it the other people it should be more a question like am i sure that my friends will understand and accept that if you know they does then you shouldnt hesetate to tell them and who knows maybe they will like your work even more then before

I don't think there's any wrong in keeping a few secrets, I could never imagine telling every little detail about myself to anyone, the thought alone terrifies me. I've seen the danger in telling someone your deep dark secret and I would never like to experience anything like that. I know a friend who have traveled hundreds of miles to a monastery just to find new people whom she'll never have to face again. But in her case, personally I think she needed that drastic change cause the path she was taking would lead her to that final resting place. Secrets are fine to keep just as long as your not hurting anyone or indirectly hurting anyone. As for myself I'm taking all my secrets to the grave, lol yeah I know it's hypocritical of me to say a thing like this but that's one of my resolve and I'm sticking to it.

I think it's not a bad thing to keep some secret for the rest of your life, if they are some secret that can hurt someone that near to you or someone else that you want to protect with your own streng and all what you can do for them. Sometime you have to keep some secret to live easily in the hard world, that full of lies, revenges, or something worse than that, so you can keep hope to be with you to the next day. Not everyone is born in a oeace world like all of us here, so the other people, they are born in a dark world, full of bad thing, if they can't some important secret to avoid bad luck that can happen to them or can end their lifes immediately, than noone can help them.
but some secret that later reveal can make some other as a surpise gift or surprise party full of presents etc... i love this kind of surprise and all of this kind of sweet thing inside the secret.
But unfortunately noone makes it real only for me even once in my whole life, how pity i am!but i love to organise it to someone i love the most or especially my mom and my sister!if later i have a boyfriend, i will make his life full of surprise and manything amazing to make him remember me forever, even when we are apart.
that will make my life more lively and full of lovely thing and sweet memories.

Well, I have a secret that's being kept from my dad, but everyone else knows about it. And that is that I took a figure drawing class. I drew nude people. Nothing wrong with that. But my dad is very old fashioned and would die if he found out. Haha. So if you're friends are like that, sure keep the secret. What they don't know won't hurt. But if not then I think you should tell them. Maybe they'd take some pictures with you? Lol.
Well..everyone sure got their own secret...but for me, when..i was 14 years old..i had done the most embrassing thing in my life..i mistaken and i went into female toilet in intentionally..then, one security come and ask me..whether im male or female..alot of people saw me..omg~~!! luckily tat time, didnt got girl go inside tat toilet..if not..im finished~~~~~~~~
Like mentioned already there's not much wrong with keeping them as long as it's not something that causes problems with others. If you're holding things back to avoid responsibility then it's not good at all, in a lot of cases. There's various things I will probably never speak of to anyone else, embarrassing stuff, dumb decisions, and actions that aren't a big deal that I'd just rather not explain.
Another, related issue that bothers me is when people discuss events with others who have no business knowing about it. This happens all the time. Say family member A gets in a verbal altercation with family member B. Family member B decides to divulge all the details to anyone who will listen, they all hear a one sided story of a personal problem that is only between two people. And unless A decides to do some damage control it will stay that way. I don't talk about my problems with other people behind their back. If advice is needed though it changes the situation a bit.

For me, I do keeping a secret from everyone especially my family that I have hentai pictures and videos in my laptop. This secret I have kept since I own my laptop and use it to download the contents from various sites.
Few months ago, one of my room mate who also my classmate somehow knew that I do have those materials and asked me to show it to him. Luckily I was too shy about it and refusing his request. XD

I have a lot of secrets from my friends, but I never told them. I think, I tell their secrets to somebody, I will have guilty consience.
I don't mind keeping secrets of my own or for others just as long as no one gets hurt. In fact, sometimes I feel really honored when people trust me enough to tell me their deepest darkest secrets. I guess it means that I'm a good keeper of secrets and that I'm someone that they can confide in. Sometimes, I gain strength from other people's experiences. I always take the good and the bad and try to learn as much as possible from it so that I can be a better person.
Some secrets can make you feel uneasy and rest on your conscience but you don't have to keep it as a burden on your part, I guess some people probably just want to release their secret to ease the pain they feel, so I don't mind listening. I like helping people loosen up a bit with their burdens, they do the same for me in return so it is a fair give and take.
