Books or Internet
It just comes to my mind that i wanted to asked everyone about this
if books, why? then if internet, why also?
i also observe for the past 2 years at our school library, only few students were going to the library, others will just come because of assignments, paper works, etc.
i also notice that some of will just went to the library just to sleep, do you also experience that?

Well...in terms of manga I prefer the actual book because I don't like reading something I like in the form of images on the internet. I like to read it when it's actual 'manga', like a book. To me, if I read it on the web it just doesn't feel like manga.
For just about every other book, I prefer the web, because, well...of CTRL + F lol

Well, I usually search on the internet since it's most convenient, but sometimes I use books since they have a lot more information in one place and it's accurate.
I read manga on the internet since, again, it's convenient and I get to read the latest chapters.

Dunno. I like both books and the internet.
Sure the internet is convenient and fast. But it'll be hard to open it when you're not with the PC or mobile phone and that's where book strike in!

I usually search in internet news or every information, too... it's fast and simple to find what i need know... but literature is wonderful for me only when i read book in their paper "essence"; so i don't like e-books.
It depends, but the first thing I do when it comes to find information about anything, ís to use Internet. If it turns out that I find a lot of information, then I stick to it, but of course I check other sites as well, just to be sure that whatever is written is true and doesn't lead me astray. Then I also check for some books to see if the information really matches, to be on the safe side, because books are much more reliable than the Internet. This is if it's about a work or projekt, serious staff.
When it comes to other staff, like, watching animes, finding information about artists etc, that is when I only use the net, because it's not that important whether the information is true or not, and because the magazines certainly have the same information

When it comes to school work I prefer the internet 100%. When teachers would say that we couldn't use the internet I would end up using Google books. All internet 100% for research. Now when it comes to pleasure reading I do prefer printed books though.
Internet, why?
A: more organized for me and it's always straight to what I'm looking for.
But if I'm reading a manga than I prefer the real manga. Why? idk the feel I guess
i also notice that some of will just went to the library just to sleep, do you also experience that?
A: well for me is just to check out a book for class. the sleeping part I don't see much at my school. most people at my school just go to the library to do homework or use the computer

The sheer diversity of information available on the internet makes it ultimately preferable. Printing books is expensive, so one can't expect to find a great deal of specialized information because there isn't enough interest to generate justifying a publication.
Fanfiction is also quite fun to read (if it's done well) so I go to the internet for that, too. I favor books for the tried-and-true, like best sellers or classics, but I think internet material is way more accessible, way more diverse, and usually it's free.
I love places that are full of books. All the information surrounding you...it's very soothing to me. Libraries and bookstores relax me (unless it's Christmastime) and I can see why people like to snooze in campus libraries - it might be the only quiet refuge available.

I think in high school, the internet is more valuable than the library. Many times the school library (in our school at least) did not have any information that was really relevant to the topic I was researching. In terms of entertainment, I had barely enough time, and even the books they had were 'classical' literature and not very interesting. The sci-fi, as far as I knew, wasn't so interesting either.
Now in university, their libraries have...almost everything. You can even access journals and such either in hard-copy or online (through their site). They even have 'entertainment books' that are about anything that you might be interested in. Like a wikipedia, in physical form.

Well i like the old form better.. i mean paper... but since i am a environmental conservationist i prefer internet.....
I prefer the internet when it comes to collecting data.
As to why it is fairly simple, in years gone by (when I was still in school) books were the only kind of media we had access to, while it was fine for gathering old data (history and such) they are mostly worthless when it comes to current information (politics/things in the industry etc) and your project was always behind the people who had internet access.
Also it is far easier to search for information on the internet (Yay for Google!).
A slight negative though is the sheer volume of info you can find on the net, but if you refine your search well enough you are more than likely to find what you are looking for.

I agree. Collecting information is much more convenient through the internet than through books. However, in my opinion books seem to be more of a reliable source since it had to pass through a series of inspections in order to get published whereas the internet is sometimes unknown people posting random information who's source is sometimes unreliable.

I personally prefer the internet to a book. The internet for me is easy to use and very fun. I find it easy to get a lot of things from the internet. It is also very entertaining to me. So yeah I prefer the Internet to books.
