After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

This is the link to the pic

I'm going for a stirctly black and white wall. I had a little trouble extracting the earth to fix that i tried to blur out the edges... and i know that didn't work..

Please give me your thoughts and suggestions!

First off, one topic is enough. o_o

There's no way this wall is anywhere close to done, I'm sorry to say.
There's essentially no work done to it.
You're using some one else's vector, and the Earth is unusable in it's current state when you could have just cropped it out with a circle tool.
The text is also just THERE... and does that say "dective"?... *squints*

I know saying "be more original" is a broad statement that most people think is ridiculous, but wallpaper's are all about creativeness, and with Death Note especially, there's a lot of stuff to work with.

I hope I didn't sound mean, nyuu... good luck~ :O

Half of what yo just said i already knew.... the vector was in the scans section and i planed to give creds to the creator WHEN the wall was finished i know that i took the earth off wrong... *im new to photoshop so dont yell too much* the second topic was the result of my horrible internet connection recreating the click and its just a rough draft! other wise either topic woulnt ever have existed!

thank for the feed back tho

I think, it is just my personal opinion, but I don't think that a wall for L have to has much colors, I think that the message in the image get lost with the brushes with colors, but it is just my personal opinion

The larger text on the keft is impossible to read, really... I'd reposition it so it's not going downwards, maybe thrown in around the brushes with the "a man of many names" text on his shirt? :O
And the brushes coming out from behind L would make him more the focus.
I do love the general idea though. ^^

On a personal opinion, maybe running a rainbow-like gradient over the vector would make the many-colored brushes not look out of place and the wallpaper more colorful and interestin in general.

I agree. Just keep playing around with the wallpaper; add more color in L if you're going to make it colorful, if not, then try to do more with the background. Maybe the bg should be made strictly with black and white text? I think it's a tough wallpaper to make because of the simplicity of the vector...if you made the vector, then that's putting more effort into it, but since you didn't (right?), then the bg needs to make up for it. :3 I wish you luck. Don't feel discouraged though! It's a work in progress. ^^

Your second version is much better than the first one you showed us :)
However, like many above me have said, there's a bit too much color to this, especially in contrast to the black and white L vector
And to be honest, I'm not digging the text --- too much Old English font for me; his name "L" in Old English seems more than enough...other words in that font makes it hard to read
I suggest maybe taking out the colored bits to it, and find a stock with a greyish textured background,or a tea-stained coloured stock, set it to multiply and work from there :) Plain vectors are hard to work with unless you plan to colour the whole thing in
