Girls look so old these days
I am convinced that it is impossible to accurately assume a girls age past age lets say 16. One girl could be 16 and another could be 23 and I would think that they are the same age. Does anyone have any thoughts on this subject. Agree/disagree, is this wrong, is there a reason behind this idea? Let me know.
I think you should not generalize.. is true that few girls look old..but taking me as an example.. i'm 18 andlook like a 15 yo girl u_u' ..
i know there few like really look old, when i was in 6th grade a girl of 13 looked as she was 16..her body grew a lot..in all her porpotions..
i think it's about genes.. and what their mothers gave them to eat ._.

I think sum grls look older while sum grls look younger ^^;; as the person above said... as for me im 21 and i still look around 16... -_- and sum grls put alot of makeup on and such make them look mature and stuf and its also what you wear that can make people see you differently i think so i dunno its quite hard to tell one's age...
bside its true for guys also... i see sum guys that look reeli old yet they are so young and vise a versa so i think it works both ways

It's not just how they look that makes a girl (or a guy) to look older or younger, it's attitude what makes them seem older or younger. For example, I know a girl whose attitude resembles that of a 20 year old girl and she's 26. Also I seem older because I'm extremely serious if I'm working or doing something about school, and people say that I'm 25 or 26 and I'm 22. That's because I get involved so much with work that I don't pay attention to what's around, but if I'm talking to my friends I'm not that serious ^_^

I think that it depends more on the person in question than anything else. Some people look younger than they are, while some look older than they actually are. It goes for both guys and girls as well.
Of course physical appearance is the main factor in judging someone's age. The way they dress or if they wear make-up etc, but it's not the only thing.
It's not just the physical appearance that affects someone's perception of another. It's also their attitude and the way they carry themselves. If someone behaves immaturely, other people might think that they're younger than they really are. On the other hand, if someone behaves maturely, they might be seen as older than they are.

I tihnk it varies from girl to girl...at a wedding i thought this girl was 17 when she was actually 22...i was so like
some guys look at me and think i'm 17 and i'm 20...though i'm not a girl **snip snip scissors time**

It depends what I'm wearing. With a cap on and baggy clothes, I'm 13-15. With a collared shirt, eye liner and a child standing next to me, I'm a young mother in my early 20s. I turn 20 in September...
Wow, sounds like we've got a lot of legal lolis here. ~_^(pretty, eddokun, puppychow16)
I reckon it is due to peer presure from publicity, like those new dolls which introduce girls to consumerism and they get interested in make up, clothes and stuff like that since they are around 9 years old so they try to look older.

... when i was 13... a guy asked me my age.. and said i looked like a 18yo girl X___X'''...
hahaa well now i think i just look like my age.. 16 o_o'. But yes, most are now looking like 5 yrs older than they actually are. But that doesn't happen to everybody.. my friend is turning 17, and she looks like 14 -_-' even her youger sister, that is 12, people think she is 16.. ~_~
for me.. it depends on what people wear, eat, and act. And of course, body shape, especially height.
ahha and last year, i was with a friend in mc donalds, and a girl who works there was hitting on him XDD~ and here we have the habit to call every person that looks older than we are, as "aunt" or "uncle". So he was calling her "aunt".. so, she said: "why are you calling me that? You have just my age...." and he: "No i don't! How old are you?" and she: "I'm.. wait, answer you first." he: "I'm 15.." her: "Ow... ok, you can call me aunt then.. - looks sad - i'm 21."

This topic almost sounded like an excuse for paedophiolia, lol. but no, i hope its not.
i can understand that all girls under 18 want to look 18 so wear clothes and make up to compinsate. and women over a certain age (say 21) want to look like theyre 21 again. its a no win situation unless you are infact between 18-21.
yes media has an influence, but surely its pretty much down to the person, no matter how feeble minded and led by masses they are.

If that is the case you've been dealing with. Teenage girls are starting to wear more make-up which can make them seem way older then they are. Trust me, make-up can go a long way. Dressing in more womanly...more mature clothes can contribute to making girls look older. Wearing there hair in more stylish mature styles. Annnd the last thing is confidence. If a girl goes in there and acts confident and mature , holds up a good conversation, then she can most likely (depending) be very very convincing.
I have a sister who is 16 and people that come into her work think shes in her 20's. Some people ask if she's married on occassion. But at home when she's not all done up. She looks like a run of the mill whiny teen.
It's funny how many ladies can get away with pretending they are older where most men fail.

I think your face has alot to do with it. Some people have baby faces that make them look younger. When i was in my 20's people would always say i look like im 18.
@bentos
lmao No thats not what this topic is about. The title just sounds wierd. Hmmm, what a dirty mind!! jk jk rofl
Girls today just wear so much makeup and dress like there 30, and this could get some guys in hot water. You guys should ask for drivers licences when you date a girl?? lol
The wierd thing is most guys look younger than they are. When some are like 17 they still look like their 13. Also asians always look younger. Instead of looking older like western girls, they always(Well most of the time) appear younger.
Heres my formula:
Take the age they appear and
Western girls:
-4
western guys:
+4
Asian females & males:
+4 or +5

It's the same for everybody; ther's people who have young face an looks younger & others who, in the contrary, looks older. For example, i'm a boy but i look younger than i am and the first years at the university; nobody would believe me. They keep saying if you're there i'm the queen of England! And when i show them my student card : ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
A, sure. Some girls really look older than they should. And viceversa.
Yea. i think its crazy too. one of my teachers is 25-26, but she could easily pass as an 18 year-old. Scary
