This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Well like I'd suggest try to do something with the pic, its all grainy, there should be some tutorials to help you with that. Or just duplicate it, gaussian blur the bottom layer and put the top layer on overlay.

Also the bg looks kinda plain, I sugguest not using only filters for a bg, cuz welll it looks kinda weird and distorted.

Did you put a tree there =x...it's so dark i can't tell..
the moon...looks sorta weird positioned there..maybe you can move it...to one side instead of it being centered...or if centered ...bigger...?iuno....did you make it =x...because it looks a bit too real...
i like the water idea^^ maybe try something like ripples :O from where he's kneeling :O ..iuno..
and maybe reflection of him in the water?..iuno..too bright in one of them...and too many stars in the sky...
it looks like you cut out the outline near his knee...the one he's not kneeling on =x...not sure..
and the edges of his cape isn't that smooth =x..hope some of this helps^^''

I think the pic doesn't fit the backround ..
you must do some effet to it to make it looks real and part of the backround..

keep going..

Haha. I have a friend named Kura. *cough* Besides the point >>

The wallpaper... First of all, lovely job on the extracting. Second, I don't really like the bg for either versions. Something a bit less complex. And I think you should move Syaoran over to the corner a bit more so that the desktop items won't get in the way of the picture. Hope that helped~

I'm leaning to the second version. But make sure he's leaning on something! Get rid of the drop shadow behind him and paint in a lakeside or something...

Haha, I'm that friend named Kura. xD; :cough:

Your wallpapers are nice. ^^ I really love your backgrounds. The only thing I'd work on is image editing. You may want to try and spiff of the images a little bit~ Remember that while a big part of the wallpaper, background isn't everything. ^^

Mmm yeah I dont think either of the backgrounds match the picture.. I think you should go with backgrounds that are about the same color as the image... And I dont know whether youre going for scenery or just a artistic type of b...

On the whole the image you are using seems to be good and I like the idea of him under a starry night.
The let's start with the first one, the len's flare seesm unneeded.
In general the bushes around him are a bit much and he is just floating on the water, why not try to put him next to the water, near the shore line maybe? If so you might have to shrink him a bit or move the moon to another location.

Hi i'm quite new here & also new to walling.. but here's my comments.. i find that the character is abit distanced from your background.. meaning like the character look like a separate thing which you just paste over the background.. one way could be to harmonise the background colors with your character's colors a bit.. meaning.. they could have similar tones of colors.. and maybe a bit of merging the character to the background.. so that he doesn't seem so stiff...

i like your moon though.. maybe something could be done by adjusting the position of the moon..

hope this helps! :)
