Hello hello people! long timùe i didn't drop by Session Zero ^^
i finished this vector today.. took me around 14h work and mmany many paths :p
i don't know if i'm gonna use it for a wall or not...

Wow you vectored that good job looks good. i havent tried vectoring its hard as hell lol. well good job tho i culdnt ever do sumthin liek that.

You did a pretty good job with the vector. just a couple of things. first, that one strip of hair in the middle, it's lines seem so solid compared to the rest of her hair. and the other thing is her arm, shoulder, and shirt area. it just seems off to me. is it possible to see what you vectored this from?
i really like the lines though, it's neat that they're different sizes. the coloring looks good. this could definitely make an interesting wall.

Thx guys for comment. Chibi (teh vector expert :p) in fact i forgot to say that i made a vector and a BIG re-CG...
take a look at the scan :p
Bakuten Scan
well i don't know if i'm actually gonna use this vector eventually... but oh well i'll see ^^

Grreat vector ,,, man i cant do that to save my life ..............*sigh* *coff* *weiz*
I love how you brightened up the color and redid the eyes,
you basically put more life into it,
i really really like it^^
i'm just starting vectoring myself and if you can give any hints or tips on how you did so well
please tell me
C:I'm dying to know ~really nice job, again

well, the main things it took me to make this vector are: pain, sweat, pain, headache, pain, and some good music to chill out XD
well seriously, u'll need Illustrator to easier the work. Pen tool use and shortcuts are a bit different form Pshop, but you get used too pretty quick. few tips: keys Ctrl, Alt, Ctrl+shift are your friends if you wanna save A LOT of time. use it with pen tool and anchor converter tool to switch functions (on pen tool or anchor tool, Ctrl transforms it into the tool that moves path or anchors, for example)
next, before actually begining your vector work, think, even take pen and paper XD to figure out what order u'r gonna give to your layers. i usually go this way: first come skins, then clothes, then eyes, then hair (most of the time, there will be hair in front of the eyes on pictures, no? ) and in the end shadows and highlights.
but it varies. i think the best way is to follow the depth of the picture. finish buy what you see first. for example, on this vector, what you would touch first if you were touching it with you hand would be the guns, right? so i did the guns last (before shadows of course :p). you have to think to the vector as a big sandwich with stories... what do you put first? bread or salad? LOL
well i'd say one sure thing is always do shadows and highlights last, and of course, don't jump on it, it's very important, it's what gives depth to your vector.
thats all i can say, i'm a noob at vector after all (3rd try at illustrator XD) but u'll see, it's like photoshop, comes fast as long as you practice. well in fact it's liek everything, huh?

Thanks a wholeee bunch the11342!
i have illustrator but it's yet to be installed, so i'll install it right now^^
your tips were really helpful, thanks again
C: lol pain, sweat, headache, and more pain, i'll try to bear that :)

Just a comment on the wall paper idea. I think you should go for it! You did great on the vector and it'd be great to see that vector put into use!
Good Job man ^.^
Good Job man ^.^
Lol no problem glad to help ^^
vector is a painstacking method, but it can achieve awesome results, just look at what Kalico does...
ah a few more tips: make as few annchors as you can on a path, use the curves you can make with the convet anchor tool as much as you can, it'll give a much sweeter look to what you do. and think to the layers as your friend, not your enemy: what can i hide behind this layer? is one of the questions i tumble on most often, cuz i'm lazy and always wonder what i can do quick XD for example: the skin is what i put first, and it's gonna be re-designed by the layers i put over it, so i just make an unaccurate pattern figuring out where skin is. its faster XD
well take a look at these two tutorials they're great help for basics, and don't be ashamed to take a look at the one provided in illustrator, they're quite well done. only if you take a quick look :p

First of all, let me thank you for providing tutorials for those interesting in vectoring - they're always a great help. You've done a great job with this vector, so my comments will be short. Right off the bat I notice two problems - first off, is varying line depth. I can see at the top that you varyed the outlines with the hair, but as I look down the outlines stay fairly consistent in terms of thickness. It would look better if you made some of the edges on the coat and gun a bit thicker to help portray depth to the viewer. You're almost there, it just needs a little more work. Another thing is her open eye - it looks rather blurry. Its pretty distracting and you probably didn't mean to do it. Fix that and you'll be set. =)
Amazing job, good vector! Like the person above said its almost there! Looking forward to see it in a wallpaper!
I blurred the eye myself :p i think it gives a more natural look but obviously i'm wrong hehe about the lines, it's what gives me most trouble in vectoring, cuz i'm basically not an artist at all (i first tried photoshop and Illustrator like one month and a half ago) so i can't draw proper things and don(t have any technique on where and how should i put these darn lines that give depth to vectors.
for now i add them more like randomly, as i do with shadows... :/ well if you would be kind enough to point out what lines in particular you were talkin about, i'd be gratefull :) thanks for commenting btw

I agree with the line variation but i loved the eyes!
i thought they were fine, they draw your attention, and that's what they're supose to do,
the main character is supposed to grab your gaze,
besides it makes it look more natural and beautiful.
....
that's prolly just me then...;(
i would say the only reason it would look even out of place a little is because of how everything else is so clean,
if you lighten the blur maybe, and see what happens?
but that was my favorite part
C: oh well, it's probably just me

Well hehe the main particularity of vector is that it looks clean :p well i'll remove the blur to see.
to be honest, there's something that disturbs me in this vector other than the lines, but i don't know what it is.. :/
i'm gonna use it for a wall, considering how you guys seem to want it so much XD but it'll be after the wall i'm currently working on (it's supposed to be an AMAZING wall when it'll bre finished, we'll see ^^)
thx to you all for encouraging me i really appreciate it :)
